My TBR List | July 2015 Voting

July 4, 2015 My TBR List 22

My TBR List is a meme hosted by Michelle @ Because Reading where we get some help picking out what to read next. We sit for hours looking through our TBR lists wondering when we will ever get to that one book we were dying to read when we added it 3 months ago or maybe even a year. So each month we pick 3 books from our TBRs and let everyone else vote on which one to read. We announce the book the second week and by the end of the month, we review it!

July 2015 Voting

I had a really hard time deciding what books to put on my list this time – so I finally decided to go with my #2015HW list. I need to focus on some of the non-audiobooks on the list, audiobooks are running out! Something that ties all these books together? I expect them to be SEXY 😀

My Three Choices

These are all eBooks I own and will count for COYER as well 🙂

  1. Close ObsessionClose Obsession by Anna Zaïres

In Lenkarda – the main Krinar colony on Earth – Mia is completely at Korum’s mercy. With no way to leave and no idea how to operate even the most basic Krinar technology, she has no choice but to trust the K who brought her there – the lover whom she had betrayed.

Will he keep his promise to bring her home, or is she destined to be his prisoner forever? Can a human become a part of Krinar society? Does Korum love her, or does he only wish to possess her?

Read on to find out . . .

I started this series in 2013 and realy enjoyed it – the authors gave me book 2 & 3 for review, but I just haven’t gotten around to finishing it! I will by the end of the year!

  2. TragicTragic by J.A. Huss

    Rook Walsh is TRAGIC

Because life so far – just sucks. Some girls get parents. Rook got the foster care system. Some girls get Prince Charming. Rook got an abusive frog. Some girls get lucky…

    Rook got a second chance.

And she took it. Because when fate throws you a bone – you grab it with both hands and run.

Antoine Chaput knows the minute he spies Rook in his photography studio that she’s got The Look. The dark and desperate look he must have to land the exclusive TRAGIC media contract.

Rook is paired up with top model, Ronin, and he’s everything her abusive ex-boyfriend wasn’t. Patient, gentle, happy, attentive, and sexy! He knows exactly what to do to make Rook blush for Antoine’s camera.

Rook’s luck changes in an instant and suddenly she’s the darling of the modeling world. It’s a dream job to go with a dream guy and all she has to do is look pretty and follow directions. But there’s always a price to pay – and Rook is about to get the bill.

I want to be a full fledged Hussie so bad, but I don’t have the credentials yet because I’ve only read Social Media so far! And I really loved it, so I need to get reading – especially since I’ve met Julie and she’s just too awesome!

  3. All the Pretty LiesAll the Pretty Lies by M. Leighton

    “Live, no regrets”

Sloane Locke has led a sheltered life. However, with a history like hers, she can understand why her brothers and her father want so much to protect her. She has gone along with it for twenty long years, but those days are over. For the girl who never makes promises, Sloane has made a pact with herself that things will change on her twenty-first birthday. So when the clock strikes midnight, Sloane strikes out to spread her wings and break a few rules.

In addition to inking skin, Hemi Spencer possesses many talents. Controlling himself has never been one of them. It’s never had to be. He’s lived a life of indulgence for as long as he can remember. Right up until tragedy struck. Now, he’s nothing but controlled. He’s a man on a mission, one who will let nothing and no one stand in his way.

Nothing in their lives could’ve prepared Sloane and Hemi for what they’d find in each other—distraction and obsession, love and possession. But the one thing they can’t find is a future. Neither one has been totally honest. And they’ll soon learn that the devil is in the details. In the details and in the lies.
How far will two people go to live in the now when the now is all they’ve got?

Naomi reviewed this book and the following book back to back and I ended up buying both because they just sounded TOO GOOD! But of course, they’re sitting on my kindle — so I need to read them already! Another one I’m really glad I’ll definitely be reading this year, even if not this month.

I voted for Tragic as I loved that series! I haven’t read anything recently by this author and her books can be a bit of a hit and miss, but I love the Rook and Ronin series. I think I have the first book in that series by Anna Zaires as it was free. I hadn’t heard of All the Pretty Lies before.

A lot of people say that about JA Huss, so I’m curious to see if it will be the same for me. Social Media was a hit. Since I’m pretty sure Tragic is winning this month we’ll see…
