A Month of Giving Thanks

Hosted by Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle @ Because Reading. #30daysofThanks is originally hosted by The Geeky Blogger and with Felicia’s permission, we adopted something similar, and hope you’ll join us!

A Month of Giving Thanks is a month-long challenge. Every day from November 1st to November 30th I will be sharing the love and being thankful by spotlighting some bloggers and books that I’ve been thankful for this year.

Please note that there is no way that I will be able to express my gratitude to everyone of you in just 30 days. I love everyone who visits the blog and even if I don’t get to single you this year, please know that I appreciate you!

A Month of Giving Thanks Day 18

Today I’d like to thank:

Hot Listens

I found the ladies of Hot Listens because of Jennifer @ The Book Nympho and the yearly Audiobook challenge she hosts with Hot Listens. I think it’s obvious why I connected with Loupe and Melanie – AUDIBOOOKS! I’m lucky I found them early in my discovery, because I these ladies KNOW their audiobooks. If you’re new to audio, they’ll be able to direct you toward some really great narrators. And Melanie is a regular part of Felicia’s Book Blog Walkers, so we enjoy cheering each other on towards our goals. They’re both so sweet and I believe they’re both coming to RT 2015, so another two bloggers I’m looking forward to meeting! Yay!

The title I’m thankful for today I didn’t come across as a DIRECT result of Hot Listens. I mean, it’s one of those books that so many people are talking about, it’s hard to know exactly where you first heard of it. However, I did decide to listen to it because of them, since this book is on their Great Series on Audio list (definitely worth checking out if you’re not sure if you should listen to a book)…

Today I’m thankful I discovered:

A Month of Giving Thanks Day 18First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones
Narrator: Lorelei King
Series: Charley Davidson #1
Published by Macmillan Audio, St. Martin's Press on February 9, 2011
Genres: Mystery, Urban Fantasy
Pages: 310
Length: 8 hours 58 minutes
Format: Audiobook
Source: Purchased
Goodreads
four-half-stars

A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper Charley sees dead people. That's right, she sees dead people. And it's her job to convince them to "go into the light". But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice.

Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she's been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life... and it turns out he might not be dead after all. In fact, he might be something else entirely.

This is a thrilling debut novel from an exciting newcomer to the world of paranormal romantic suspense. The audio includes a sneak peak of Second Grave on the Left.

My review for First Grave on The Right just went up yesterday, but suffice it to say I’m pretty frustrated with myself for taking so long to read this series. I need to get a move on with the rest of the books, though, since I’ve only read the first one.

Go give Loupe and Melanie @ Hot Listens some love and add First Grave on The Right to your Goodreads shelves! Who are you thankful for? Add your links below and visit the other participating bloggers πŸ™‚

I love Hot Listens! I don’t listen to as many audio books but definitely more then I previously did. I used to listen to tons when I was in. The army and traveling a lot. But lately I have been listening more because I have had a reading funk so have turned it on while doing art instead. They are a perfect blog and ladies to be thankful for πŸ™‚

*ha* I’ve not heard of Hot Listens because I don’t…*ahem* do audio. Well, not until you strong-armed me into it anyway. I did listen to another audio…A Perfect Blood…did I tell you that? Anyway, as I get into audio more, I’ll have to check out this blog. πŸ™‚
