Top Ten… all about the visuals #TTT

I couldn’t make one top ten list for this one because I’m really not at all about the visuals. I don’t read graphic novels or comics for the most part. I read Children’s picture books because I’m a teacher… so yeah a few here, a few there.

The graphic novels I want to read

  1. Buffy graphic novels
The Buffy Graphic Novels. If I were to go through and name every single one, that would be well over the top ten, there’s so many. I’m just picturing the omnibuses… there’s more! I’m such a huge Buffy fan, I want to read these despite them being graphic novels.
  2. Mercy Thompson Graphic Novels
The Mercy Thompson Graphic Novels make my list for the same reason – I love Mercy Thompson so much, I’m willing to try them even though they are graphic novels.
  3. Graphic novelsPersepolis is on my list because of Bookworm Brandee (or better yet, her daughter!). It’s also on the Goodreads list of best graphic novels, so worth a try, right?
  4. Page by Paige was added to my list after Kai reviewed it. Sounded cute, so we’ll see someday!
  5. I forget how Sidekicks ended up on my list, but I’m sure it’s because of the animals!
  6. Books with stunning visuals I’ve read or own

    stunning visuals
  7. The Memory’s Wake trilogy I picked up because of the story, but I fell in love with the artwork. I’ve reviewed all three books, including samples of the artwork, here.
  8. Sunborn Rising is a book Michelle and I stumbled upon at BEA 2016 and we were both struck by the amazing artwork. I haven’t read it yet, but hope to soon!
  9. Some children’s picture books worth reading with your kids

  10. 7-habits-of-happy-kids
This one isn’t about the artwork, even though that is good too. I love the message of this book – I reviewed it in a Kinderland review here.
  11. no-david
The No David! books by David Shannon are kid favorites. The pictures are fun and they’re great for reading with kids.
  12. I love this one for the transition to school and school rules. As a kinder teacher, I have to recommend it!

Do you love graphic novels or picture books?

  1. Bookworm Brandee

Oh!! You have to read Persepolis! It’s soo good. (and I love how Sky and I are getting the blame) Of course, I’m a little bit older than you 😉 so I remember some of the things discussed in the book. But it’s such an eye-opening read. I’m thinking a certain someone (read: the leader of the free world) would benefit from reading it. 😉 I really want to read the Mercy Thompson graphic novels because Melanie says they’re so good. And I love Buffy! So maybe I’ll check those out sometime. But like you, I’m not much of a graphic novel person. I *do* like the David books! 🙂

  2. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Ooh nice! I think I tried reading one of the Buffy comics before. I think the season 8 version. Maybe not because I know when I started it I felt soooo lost! Like I had missed out on a ton of things after Sunnydale disappeared! Not so sure what I read now! If there are so many already I might have picked up the wrong “season”!

    Great picks though!!

I love how you mixed it up in this one! Graphic novels, books with art, children’s picture books… I kept mine to children’s picture books (as you know), and I could barely keep it down to 10. I left out so many good ones! Robin and I loved the Maxi the Taxi Dog books, for instance. Those might be fun for your kindergartners.
