Top Ten 2016 Releases I meant to read…

This list was so hard to make because I’m SO behind that I don’t really know what year the books were published anymore it seems… I could make a list like this for 2014 releases I never got to too. I started by looking at the award winners on Goodreads, as I remembered seeing quite a few there I wished I had read. Then I went to my purchased/review book shelves. And then I was way past 10, despite overlap. So these are the ones that topped that long list πŸ™‚

TTT 2016 releases
  1. Winner’s Kiss – book 2 in this trilogy should be on my list from 2014. I loved book 1 so much – I need to read these!
  2. Scrappy Little Nobody – it’s rare that I want to read an autobiography but I love Anna Kendrick and think she’s hilarious. So I’d love to listen to her story. Crazy to think that I first saw her in Twilight of all places!
  3. The Woman in Cabin 10 – this has bounced on and off my TBR. I won’t lie, I’m a little bit afraid of it. But I’ve read too many reviews of differing opinions that I just need to see for myself.
  4. A Court of Mist and Fury – I really enjoyed the first book and I actually have this one for audio review. I think the main reason I haven’t read it yet is that it’s on CDs and I have to rip them to listen on my phone because I don’t have a CD player in my car. And this has A LOT of discs.
  5. It Ends With Us – everything I’ve read of Colleen Hoover’s has been amazing. So I hate that I haven’t managed to read more!
  6. The Problem With Forever – Y’all know JLA is my author crush, right? But she writes so much, it’s impossible to keep up! I do have a signed copy of this though πŸ™‚
  7. A Promise of Fire – I have no excuse for not reading this yet. I had a physical copy loaned for me, it was picked for book club, and I have it for audio review. But here’s my excuse, just the same (it’s convoluted…): I borrowed the physical copy before I knew I could read it for audio review and was like, never mind, I want to listen to it. Then it came up for book club before I had the audio copy. When I finally got the audio copy it was on CD and a million discs. See above complaint for ACOMAF for why that’s a big deal. *sigh*
  8. I Want My Epidural Back – I picked this up at BEA because it sounded funny. And everytime I see it I think I want to read it. And then I forget about it πŸ™
  9. Furthermore – I think I’m most upset with myself about this one. It was the second most coveted book on my list from BEA. It’s on my #2017HW though, so I’d BETTER get to it!
  10. Fire Touched – Mercy I’m so sorry, I’ve neglected you these past couple years πŸ™ I promise to do better this year!

What books do you plan to read in 2016 and not get to?

I’ve been meaning to start The Winner’s Curse trilogy for so long. I don’t know what I’m waiting for! I had planned on reading Anna Kendrick’s book in 2016 but when I put it on hold at the library I was number 30 or 40 so my wait continues into 2017. I read ACOMAF, It Ends With Us and The Problem With Forever last year and all were favorites. So get on those, will ya? πŸ˜‰

LOL! I know, I seriously need to step it up! Why can’t time slow down while I’m reading so I can conquer more faster?!

  2. Katherine

I should have had The Woman in Cabin 10 on my list as well as I’m so excited about that one! I loved her first book and while I’m a little nervous too because the reviews have been all over the place it still sounds great. The narrator is amazing if you can get it on audio. Scrappy Little Nobody looks so great! I think I’m going with the audio on that one as well.

The thing about this week’s meme is that you look at people’s list and realize there’s so many more that should have made your list. *sigh* I’ll have to see about woman in cabin 10 on audio, I get through way more audio books than I do physical reads. Definitely doing scrappy little nobody on audio!

LOL I was supposed to read it for book club too! Woo-hoo! We fail together πŸ˜‰ That’s okay, we’ll TOTALLY get to it this year!

    • Berls

LOL I know, I suck! Okay yes, let’s do that – It Ends With Us in March? I need to read it!!

    • Berls

Thanks, I hope I do too! You need to step it up and read A Court of Thorns and Roses – so good πŸ˜‰ You know, with all the extra time! hehe!

    • Berls

LOL I’m seeing a few books over and over on lists. It makes me feel a bit better πŸ™‚

    • Berls

I think I will too – with the varied reviews I’m super curious about it. LOL you’ll love Mercy, I can’t wait for you to read that series!

*sigh* I have no doubt. I just love Tahereh Mafi and I’m so disappointed in myself. Hope I get to it in 2017.

  3. Bookworm Brandee

There are a few on your list that I intended to read last year and didn’t get to as well. It’s just so hard to find time to read everything we want to read!! Wah!!! Bookworm problems, right?!? We’ll get to them all….eventually. πŸ˜‰

    Happy Tuesday! {{{hugs}}}

Such a huge problem. I wish I could make myself a faster reader. These all will happen in 2017… hopefully… probably… πŸ˜›

Furthermore looks great. I’m not really familiar with it. I loved Fire Touched and really excited for Silence Fallen. I just listened to A Promise of Fire right over the new year. My review will be posted in within the next week or so. The Woman in Cabin 10 is on my TBR list. So many books, so little time. Seems like I say that all the time. *sigh*

I know, I should just make that my slogan this year. *sigh* somehow I’ll get to these and all the others I wish I’d gotten to the last few years. Mercy is a top priority though!
