My TBR List | January 2017 Voting

January 7, 2017 My TBR List 23

My TBR List is a meme hosted by Michelle @ Because Reading where we get some help picking out what to read next. We sit for hours looking through our TBR lists wondering when we will ever get to that one book we were dying to read when we added it 3 months ago or maybe even a year. So each month we pick 3 books from our TBRs and let everyone else vote on which one to read. We announce the book the second week and by the end of the month, we review it!

January 2017 Voting

I think the key to my success with #2016HW was using My TBR List to pick my reads… so I’m going to do that again!

My Three Choices

All three of these are books from my #2017HW list that I can read for #COYER. Kill two birds with one stone, right? Coincidentally they all begin with B! LOL!

  1. Bunny and the BearBunny and the Bear by Eve Langlais

What’s a poor bear to do when all he wants is some sweet, bunny pie?

Bears and bunnies aren’t supposed to mix, or that’s what Chase keeps telling himself when his bouncy new neighbor won’t stay out of his business—and his mind. However, the more he gets to know his overly perky neighbor, the more he craves her—naked in his grasp—a desire worse than his addiction to honey and pie.

Miranda’s on a mission for the Furry United Coalition, and it involves secretly guarding one grumpy ol’ bear. Staying focused on the job isn’t easy when all she can think about is turning his frown upside down, a task made harder when she gets a glimpse of his passion. When she hears about his theory on woodland creatures and predators not mixing, she thinks all is lost, but she didn’t count on a bear’s curious nature—and possessive need.

When an evil force abducts Chase, Miranda unleashes her bunny in order to save him, but the revelation of her shifter side puts her in danger. Is one ornery bear enough to save her from a mad scientist? And if he does, can a bear forget her woodland creature status long enough to love her and make her his mate?

Warning: Pies were harmed in the making of this story and naughty references made about honey that might offend some readers

  2. Beyond the VeilBeyond the Veil by Pippa DaCosta

If your ex is the Prince of Greed, you’d better be ready to raise Hell.

Charlie Henderson is living a lie. Her real name is Muse, she’s half demon, and her attempt at a normal life is about to go up in smoke.

When an assassin walks into her life, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake, Muse must return to the one man she hoped never to see again and ask for help. The Prince of Greed isn’t known for his charity. The price is high, and the cost could tear her apart.

Trapped between the malevolent intentions of a Prince of Hell and an assassin with ulterior motives, Muse must embrace the lure of chaos at her core—the demon inside her—in order to survive.

  3. bright-blaze-of-magicBright Blaze of Magic by Jennifer Estep

Bad Things Always Come In Threes…

As a thief, I’m good at three things: hiding in the shadows, getting in and out unseen, and uncovering secrets. I put these skills to work for the Sinclair Family, one of the magical mobs that run the tourist town of Cloudburst Falls.

Everyone knows Victor Draconi wants to take over all the other Families–and kill every last Sinclair. What they don’t know is that I’m on to him, and no way will I let the man who murdered my mom get away with hurting all the other people I care about. Especially when I’ve got places to break into, stuff to steal, and Devon Sinclair fighting right by my side…

Now Vote!

Thanks for playing along! Now head over to Because Reading for the linky! Even if you’re not joining in, you can vote 🙂

This was really tough! I was torn with Beyond the Veil and Bright Blaze of Magic. I ended up going with Beyond The Veil. I can’t wait to see your thoughts on it.

  2. Melanie Simmons

This was a tough call for me. I’ve read both Bunny and the Bear and Bright Blaze of Magic. Ultimately, I chose Jennifer Estep because, if it were me, I would want to finish a series. I do highly recommend Bunny and the Bear. It’s a really fun start to a fun series. The audiobooks for the FUC series are really good. Abby Crayden is the narrator. I hope you enjoy which ever book you end up with.

Oh this is a hard pick. I actually own all three of these books as well. So I am curious to hear what you think of them. And I have read the first book in that Jennifer Estep which I loved, but haven’t read book 2 and 3 yet. In the end I voted for Bright Blaze of Magic.

Thanks Rachael! The way it’s going, I might read a Netgalley book and that would be 3 birds 😉

    • Berls

Thanks Kathy! I think I will 🙂 Looks like it’s probably going to be Bright Blaze of Magic.

    • Berls

It’s in the lead! I love this series and Jennifer Estep so I’m looking forward to it 🙂

    • Berls

It’s in the lead, so I think that’ll be the one 🙂 I’m looking forward to it!

  4. Greg

Hey Berls! Wow Bunny and Bear are having a good time lol. “all he wants is some sweet bunny pie”? Oh my… but I went with Bright Blaze of Magic because that looks kickass. Girl with sword and tentacles plus cool cover… yup that’s my vote. :):)

LOL yeah that one will be a guilty pleasure read when I get to it. For now, Bright Blaze of magic seems to be winning! It’s a great series so I look forward to continuing it.

    • Berls

It looks like Jennifer Estep is going to win this time, but Beyond the Veil will have a chance again next month 🙂

  5. Bookworm Brandee

I picked Bunny and the Bear because I’ve read it and it’s a cute story! It served as my introduction to Langlais eons ago. It’s fun so if it doesn’t win, do read it sometime when you want to laugh. 🙂 I hope whichever book wins is a, um, winner. 😉
    Happy weekend, Berls!!! {{{hugs}}}

I can’t believe I haven’t read Langlais yet! Bunny’s losing this month 🙁 but she’ll get another chance since she’s on my #2017hw list!

  6. Lexxie

I just had to go with Bunny and the Bear, because you really need a dose of Langlais humor and hotness in your life, Berls 😀 I hope you’ll enjoy the January pick no matter what book that will be!

I really REALLY do. Alas (LOL I love using that word when I can ;)!), it doesn’t look like Bunny is going to win. But she’ll be on the list again, since it’s a #2017HW book!
