Sunday Post | So Tired!

September 18, 2016 Sunday Post 8

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

News at Home – So Tired!

Y’all, I’m so tired. Exhausted. And I don’t really have a great reason. This week was a long one, but nothing truly bad or exhausting happened.

I had morning duty this past week, which means that when I get to the school at 7:30, instead of having 20 minutes in my classroom sans kids to get ready for the day I have to run off to the gym to watch the K-2 kids with another teacher as they arrive until their teachers come to pick them up between 7:50 and 7:55. I do think that was part of it, but can’t be the whole issue.

One of our teachers had to call in this week because her baby was sick and she wasn’t able to get a sub, so we had to split her class – meaning I had 24 kids instead of 20. But still, I had 28 -30 kids most days last year. And they were not as good as these kids, so I don’t think that’s it.

We also didn’t have computer lab every day this week like we normally do, because of testing – which means I had 30 minutes more every day to plan. But last year I only got computer lab every other week – so I don’t think that’s it.

We also started a new schedule this week – everything was reorganized – and that was a bit challenging. But the schedule is actually much better than the old one. So that’s not it.

My two difficult kids were on a rampage this week – but my team took them from me to give me a break for about an hour on Wednesday. So that’s not it.

I think all that combined… I think that’s it. Just a lot for one week. And I’m beat. My plan for today is to finish prepping the kids journals for the week, setup the classroom blog post, and then sleep and read. sleep and read. repeat as many times and as long as possible. LOL!

Blog News

I learned this week that when you’re really tired you don’t come home and blog. So I had a couple days that I didn’t get posts up. Not that I’m stressing that – because seriously – I had weeks without posts this past year. But I did decide to spend some time this weekend getting posts written for next week. I got through Thursday. So hopefully I’ll get Friday’s post finished today or throughout the week. If not, well then I won’t have that post lol.

#FitReaders Update

My average steps last week was like 12,000 steps. Up from last week (probably another reason I’m so tired). And my foot is still really hurting. Kiko massaged it really good Friday night and I think I’m going to figure out some way to bribe him into doing that every night for a while. Just 5 minutes so it doesn’t hurt so bad. Until I can afford to go to the doctor.

Food wise I did really well this week. Being broke really helps you not splurge!

    Well, I do think that a combination of all that could be making you tired. It could also be the effects of getting back on a schedule after the summer. OR you could be like me and be having pre-time change syndrome. I’ve been exhausted as well and have much less reason for it than you. 😉 I hope you find a little more energy this week. I’m heading to Portland this weekend so I can give Sky some hugs. 🙂 So I’ll be looking forward to that. Enjoy your week, Berls! {{{hugs}}}

    You know. I was just talking with Felicia on twitter about women who are tired without having kids. We have both be approach (along with some others) about how could we be tired if we don’t have kids. You can so not have kids and still be tired. I could see how not having that little bit of time in the morning could really make a difference. I hope that this week is better.
