Sunday Post | Happy Easter!

March 27, 2016 Sunday Post 20

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

News at Home – Happy Easter!

I hope everyone is having a great Easter today! We aren’t actually aren’t doing anything today and I’m really happy about that. Sometimes a day of nothing is just what you need. I had a pretty good week back to school, especially considering that it was just four days. Nothing better than coming back from spring break to a 4 day week 🙂 But it was somehow a really LONG 4 days. I don’t know why, exactly, but it was rough! The kids were tired, the teachers were tired, we all were tired. I’m hoping when we go back Monday we will all be more awake. Because we’ve still got like 50 days of school to get through… or you could say that as ONLY 50 days! Seriously how awesome is that?!

We have entered birthday season in our family. Jesus – Franky’s little brother – turned ten this week and we did Chuck-e-Cheese yesterday morning. It was fun, though there’s only so much I can take of those noises. Then we went out to the lake and walked around for a couple hours with the dogs. It was a beautiful day – sunny, 70 degrees – and we had a great time with the dogs. We also celebrated Kiko’s birthday Friday night – he turns 42 on Tuesday! I got him a paper shredder, which sounds like a boring gift, except that he’s so OCD it made him incredibly happy. He got right to shredding. It was too cute 🙂

Blog News

I managed to get posts setup for next week and I’m hoping that I’ll get to go visiting blog posts this afternoon. I’m hoping I’ll be able to keep up this schedule now, I really want to be a regular poster and visitor again!

#FitReaders Update

Not the best eating week, with the birthdays. But my steps were still good 🙂 My FitBit is falling apart, so I need to get a new one. A great excuse to try out the new one that just came out and looks really pretty!

I hope both the kids and you are less tired this week, Berls 🙂 We have our spring-break now, and start again on Monday. I really needed this break too, and it’s been nice and mostly quiet with the new addition to our family. Little Freddy is the cutest puppy I’ve ever met.
Happy birthday to Kiko 🙂 I’m glad he loved his gift 😉
Have a fantastic week and happy reading. *hugs*

I’ve just been loving the pictures of Freddy on FB! He’s the cutest – you’re going to miss him so much in May – we’ll both be in puppy withdrawal, I’ll be missing my Buffy! Happy spring break 🙂

    I’m glad you had a nice long weekend, Berls. And Happy Easter! It is nice to have a day where you don’t *have* to do anything. It was a day like that for us as well. Today is the last day of our Spring Break and the kids are dreading going back…but at least it’s only a 4 day week. 🙂 50 days left of school? We need a count down to BEA! 😉 I hope your return to work went well today. Have a great week!! {{{hugs}}}

We’re having a pretty low key Easter as well. I need some downtime or I get kind of frazzled and I ‘d definitely need quiet after a day at Chuck E Cheese! I’ve been wanting a paper shredder so I totally get why he was excited about it as a gift! Have a great week and I hope next week everyone is more alert.

Lol right?! Chuck E Cheese is just a bit much! I found this really great paper shredder for him because it’s small and fits on the table in our living room (we don’t have a lot of space) but still can do 12 pages at a time, credit cards and CDs. Have a great week, hope you’re enjoying your down time 🙂

We just did the normal Sunday things, went to church and then went out to eat, nothing different. 🙂 Glad you had a nice time of doing nothing as that is good now and then. YAY, for only 50 days left of school! 🙂

Hope you enjoy some great reading time and blogging!

Thanks Stormi! Just got back from a nice long walk with Buffy and I’m doing a little blogging before I have to do some work to get ready for school tomorrow. We’re actually down to 47 days so I can’t complain 🙂 Happy Easter!

Yes, we all need a day of doing nothing now and then. Happy birthday to Jesus and Kiko! A paper shredder would be a boring present for some people but it sounds perfect for Kiko. I was absurdly happy when a friend gave me a cro0ckpot for Christmas, lol. It’s a matter of matching up gifts with people. 🙂

    Happy Easter!

I agree, the best gifts match the person. Lol a crockpot would be a great gift for me too 🙂 Happy Easter!!

We’re not doing anything today either. Just hanging out. And we have 49 days left of school. Only 49! Go ahead, you can say it with the “only” added. 😀 You know why I like going to Chuck E. Cheese? Because I’m freakishly good at the basketball game and I love seeing the guys try to beat my score after I’ve played. Suckers. LOLOL

Lol I just checked my count down and mine is 47. Only 47!! Happy dance!! And that’s not counting the days I’m hoping to take off in May 🙂

Lol I’m not good at any of the Chuck E. Cheese games, but Iove trying 🙂

I hope you’ll have a great calm weekend! It’s nice to have a day where you have to do nothing for a chance. Sorry to hear it was a tough week on your work, but I hope next week will be better once everyone has gotten some rest over the weekend.

You seem busy with all those birthdays. That paper shredder sounds like a great present for your family member. I hope you’ll have a great week!

I’m new to Fitbit and only got one because I recently had to start monitoring my heart rate. Since the Blaze had just been released, I decided to try it. Unfortunately, it has one big deal breaker for me – the watch screen automatically shuts off after 10 seconds, so you can’t read it unless you either tap the face (which doesn’t work very well and often requires 10 or more taps), or you have to twist your wrist forward toward your face to activate it. Just raising your wrist won’t do it, you have to actually turn it (and I found you have to “snap” it. Turning it slowly doesn’t always work). For me, this was a no go. I need to be able to glance down and see the screen, not have to always lift and turn my wrist. Apparently this is standard on the Apple Watch also, so I will never be buying one of those. Anyway, if this doesn’t bother you, then you’d probably really like the Blaze. I liked everything else about it, but couldn’t get over this, so I returned it and instead got a Surge, which has a screen that can be read all the time.

Hmm that’s a bummer about the Blaze. I don’t mind having to tap the screen, but once or twice – not 10 times! I have the charge right now – maybe I’ll look at the surge instead. Thanks for that info!

Happy Easter to you too. I’m planning on doing little today too. Yesterday, I was at the zoo for the their annual Eggs, Paws and Claws event. It was a lot of fun to talk to people as the animals played with their Easter related enrichment items. I also had to help herd an overly territorial goose that was terrorizing the guests.

Oh that sounds fun – and an adventure with the goose! I’m afraid of ducks and geese (and chickens and swans lol) so I’d have been no help! You always have the best animal adventures 🙂
