Sunday Post | No News is Good News!

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

News at Home – No News is Good News

I don’t really have anything major to report… which is pretty much a brand new phenomenon since August! Obviously I’m checking in a little late this week, because I still haven’t gotten too good at blogging ahead. But life is just kind of moving forward.

The little boy that I mentioned we had a meeting for last week is offiically being transfered out of my class and to a school equipped to help with Autism! Yay! Mom was very resistant, but she came around. I know change is hard – especially when dealing with a child that has Autism – but continuing as he has been wil be no good for him and I think we got her to see that. Wednesday will be his last day in my class.

The only real negative is that I seem to have lost some of the progess I made in the fall when it comes to work hours. Almost every day last week I left around 6:30 / 7pm 🙁 So that’s my goal for this week – get out by 5pm!

Blog News

Not much to report, except that I’m sticking to the Saturday – Monday schedule it seems, even though I really wanted it to be Saturday – Tuesday. We’ll see how this week goes, especially since I haven’t managed to continue with my Book of the Year reveal and that’s something I really wanted to do. Not to mention I have TONS of reviews that need posting! We’ll see what happens.

#FitReaders Update

Because of staying late every day this week I didn’t make it to the gym yet. 🙁 I’m finding it really hard to make happen and I’m getting frustrated because I know how badly I need to get to the gym. I know I won’t make it on Tuesday this week because I have bookclub, but I’m going to try for Thursday. If I can just make it one day I’ll be happy. Baby steps, right?! I am still averaging 10k steps a day during the work week though and my eating continues to be pretty okay. I haven’t been losing as much as I would like lately, though, so I may need to take another look at my calorie intake.

I am SOOOO far behind in my blog reading. I haven’t checked my feed reader for over 2 weeks. So I’m just catching up on stuff. Glad to hear the boy in your class has moved on. Sounds like good news for him and for your class/you.

As for fitness – just keep moving, that’s my motto. You are getting in some good steps. Great job!

The best thing anyone can do for a autistic child is to get him the help he needs as early as possible. Eric was diagnosed at 18 months, and we had him in therapy almost immediately from that point on. I can’t tell you the difference the early intervention has made! He’s going to a normal school now and working academically at the expected age level ( and even above in a couple of subjects). His diagnosis has evolved and the therapy has changed accordingly. By contrast, I know of cases less fortunate where the lack of timely support has led to an even backward slide…
Anyway.. I hope you’re doing well. Happy Valentine’s Day to you <3

That’s nice to have an uneventfull week. I am glad to hear that boy got tranfered to another school, sounds like it is a good change for him, even though I agree that change is hard, sounds like it is for the best as they can better help him with his autism there. I hope you can leave your work a bit earlier again this week. I hope this week is going well so far!

That’s so good for your kiddo! I have always had very resistant parents, especially when students no longer qualify for SPED (and never did in the first place, they were placed there to placate parents) and will be moved to the 504 umbrella. It’s a nightmare and I hate being put in the middle of it. As for the week, today I made sure I left as soon as the kids did – before some of the buses even left the school! I had to get away. Now that I’m doing yearbook, two days a week I’m at school until well after 6.

Uneventful gets a bad rap, but I prefer it. lol I’m so glad the mom came around. She’ll be glad she did when she sees him thriving. The weight loss may have hit a plateau for you. Getting to the gym or even just adding some different exercises at home (anything except walking which is what you already do at work) should help with that. I really want to learn yoga. If I could find a free class I’d go. Ah, well. Have a wonderful week, Berls! I’ll be pushing the {{{posivibes}}} for a Thurs gym trip. 🙂

Uneventful is always nice, Berls! I’m happy to hear that things are calmer in your classroom and that that one little boy is going to get the help/services/educational environment he needs. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed you can get out of work earlier this week. And as far as your life outside of work…reading, blogging, exercising, etc… girl, you can only do what you can do. So you do what you need to do to take care of what needs taking care of…it’s all good. We’ll still be around. 😉
    Have a great week!! {{{hugs}}}

Hurray for uneventful weeks! And I’m glad your little student will be transferred to a school where they’re better able to help him. I hope you’re able to leave work sooner next week, so you can get to the gym. Here’s to another nicely uneventful week next week!

I am glad that you had an uneventful week. 🙂 Hope you reach your goal of getting out earlier during the day and can get to the gym at least once this week. 🙂 I need to find a gym that has a cheap membership that is not extremely far away. Glad the kid is getting the proper care he needs.

Hope you have a great week this week!
