Sunday Post | Feeling Pretty Good

February 21, 2016 Sunday Post 11

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

News at Home: Feeling Pretty Good

Things are going pretty well at home. Nothing major to report. I had my third evaluation from my Alternative Certification Program this week and she commented that she saw a huge improvement in the kids’ behavior and my own confidence, so that was nice. I seem to be working too much again though – I didn’t leave Friday until 8!!! So that’s my goal for this week.

I have my time off request in for BEA and I have a sub secured. They haven’t officially approved the request but considering he’s a sub the school loves, I’m feeling pretty good about it.

The school asked us to unofficially tell them if we’re going to stay at the school next year – I unofficially said yes because I don’t want the retaliation of saying no. But in reality, I have no idea what I’m going to do. On one hand – the Devil you know is better than the one you don’t. Plus I do really like my team. On the other hand, there’s a lot of reasons to leave. So I’m undecided right now. I’m leaning towards staying, because I have a feeling my administration will be removed after this year and then things will probably get a lot better. But we’ll see.

Blog News

Nothing special, except I’m going to try and get some posts ready today for next week. I owe y’all so many reviews and such!

#FitReaders Update

So I have officially given up on the gym. It’s just not practical with my life right now – I love the classes but that means getting to the gym at a specific time, not to mention losing time to travel.

The result? I did much better working out this week. On Tuesday and Thursday after school I came home and took 1 mile walks. Then Saturday I did a 5k (3.1 miles) and today I walked 2 miles. So I’m going back to the less interesting but easier walking workouts I used to do. I need to schedule in some at home toning/weight lifting exercises, but I’ll work back up to that. My goal this week is to get in two 1 mile walks, a 2 mile walk, and a 5k again.

I went shopping for new bras yesterday (of course that’s where a lot of my weight loss has been) and found a pair of jeans on sale, down 3 sizes! Yay!

Congrats on the positive evaluation, Berls! That’s wonderful! You’ve come so far this year, you know? I just knew you were meant to be a teacher! 😉 And I too would say ‘yes’ in this case. That way you’re ensured of having a job and if you’re meant to be somewhere else, the opportunity will present itself. (you know I’m a believer in things happening the way they’re meant to 🙂 ) I’m so happy you scheduled your time off for BEA! I can’t wait to see you again! *squee* It’s going to be so much fun!
Good job in being realistic about gym time. It is hard to get to the gym and as long as you’re moving, that’s what counts. And looking at our fitbit results, you’ve been moving more than me! *ha* I’m happy you got yourself some new bras (that always makes me happy) and new jeans! Woohoo!!
    Have a great week, my friend! {{{hugs}}}

Uhhhhmmm, yeah, they can’t do that…Either way, everyone’s response should be “yes” so you all get a contract for next year. Our district did this “incentive” thing where the first 20 people who jumped through hoops would get a $1000 bonus, and the next 10 would get $500. They originally sent it out in October, and they keep sending it out even though we all know those slots and the money is gone. I’m not stupid enough to do it. Like you, I’m leaning toward staying until I know I have something elsewhere.

I am glad things are going well! I know you have a tough decision one stay or go and I do hope at some point you will be able to find a job teaching the age you wanted. Which ever way you go I wish you the best of luck! 🙂 Getting a bit excited about BEA and nervous to as I don’t travel alone much…lol.

Yay! Three sizes down that is awesome! Can’t wait till I can say that…lol. You had a bit of a crash diet it there for a while which not healthy did help and I sure don’t want to have to lose it that way (I know you didn’t)…lol. Glad you getting in some walking, I am so tired today but I did make my 5,000 steps today. I feel bad for not going for a walk but I only got 3 hours of sleep last night as I just couldn’t sleep and so I am sluggish today. 🙂

Thanks Katherine! I am reading, though not as much as I would like of course. Hope you have a great week too!
