Sunday Post | Where’d November Go?

December 6, 2015 Sunday Post 7

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

OMG where’d November go y’all? It’s not just December… it’s December 6th already! This week went really slowly, but then the weekend was over in a snap. I had to work on Saturday – mandatory Saturday school. The plus is that I was able to select which students I would invite, so I was working with three great kiddos. The bad? I had to work on Saturday and I’m not feeling nearly as rested as I’d like for a Sunday night. I’m worried it’s going to be another really long week as a result. Regardless of what I said about the job not being so bad anymore, I’m still VERY ready for a break.

On the surgery front, I have a great update. I met with my new surgeon on Thursday and I’m feeling really good about him. Even though the other surgeon wasn’t a problem for me, this one is making me realize that I wasn’t thrilled with the way the other surgeon answered questions and gave details, etc. And his office is really on top of things, so I don’t think we’ll be having any last minute cancellations this time. My surgery has been rescheduled for the 18th, which means I only have 9 days of school before I’m out for winter break. Woot! And I’m only taking one day off so that’s much better than the three I was having to take originally. So, maybe this is all going to work out for the better – even if it has been a giant pain in the ass.

Blog News

Because this weekend went by so quickly without me really having any down time, I’m not going to have many posts this week… if any. I wanted to get out a quick Sunday Post since I probably will disapear for a while and didn’t want anyone to be worried. Next week is in the air as well, since I have to work next Saturday too. My free time is pretty swamped with trying to get ready for the holidays – both at school and at home – so I just know if what I’ll pull off this month… with the exception of COYER of course! Sign ups are still open ๐Ÿ™‚

Also signups for #2016HW went up this past week and we’ve revised the rules to make it a bit more flexible and easier to succeed at. Hope you’ll join us.

#FitReaders Update

I’m kinda sucking on this front right now. I get lots of steps but I’m not making it to the gym. My diet is shitty – in that I just don’t — CAN’T — eat much. I realize this probably is linked to the gallbladder, but I’ve also been feeling sick again – cold symptoms. I’m on antibiotics again and a cough syrup… but I’m just so tired of being sick. In fact, I’m sitting here typing and thinking this post is going to get cut radically short because my head is just pounding and I think I’m just going to go to bed. Sorry ๐Ÿ™

How was your week?

    *ugh* working on Saturday, but still having to do a full week of teaching much suck, Berls! I’m glad it’s only one other Saturday, and then not too long before you have a break.
    And I’m so happy you’ve found a more serious surgeon to take care of your gall bladder. Hopefully, you’ll be in top shape for Christmas, and able to eat healthily once that is taken care of.
    Have a fantastic week, my friend! *HUGS*

    That’s fantastic about the new surgeon. It’s so nice to have a doctor you’re comfortable with! It definitely sounds like you need a break! No matter how much you love a job you need a break periodically and a classroom full of 5 year olds is enough to drive the sanest person crazy. Get some rest, feel better and have a fantastic week!

    Yes, where did November go?? I’m feeling stressed as I start working tomorrow and I’m only about half done with Christmas shopping…haven’t decorated at all. Ugh! I’m sorry that you’re feeling crummy again. But good news on the surgery. And hopefully once your gall bladder is removed you’ll feel better – at least in some ways. Are you drinking orange juice? (do I sound like a mom?) I hope you’ll get over the crud and be well for your surgery. Don’t worry about the blog – just take care of YOU! We’ll still be here. I hope your week is off to a great start! {{hugs}}

    I am so glad you are happy with your new surgeon! That is not something you want to just let slide. And it works out better with only being gone one day from work! I had surgery in the middle of teaching summer school this past summer and returned to work the following day. After the surgery and the resulting follow up (um, NONE!) from the surgeon, I wasn’t very pleased. I am calling my insurance to get a new PCP and get some things addressed that would be considered preventative care due to family medical history so I’m not having to pay full cost for them.

    I hope you enjoy your break and that the surgery goes well! Happy reading!

    Wtf *gives the {{{posivibes}}} the stink eye and a good shake* I’m going to have to do some disciplinary action to them, so you get better asap. Rest as much as possible and don’t worry about us. We’ll be here when you get back. {{{hugs}}} Oh! And I’m really glad you feel good about the new surgeon. That kind of vibe makes all the difference!
