Sunday Post | 83rd Edition

May 10, 2015 Sunday Post 16

Welcome to the 83rd Edition of My Sunday Post!
Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

News at Home

I really can’t believe it’s Sunday already – I’ve had another super busy week and it just flew by! I’ve begun work on the summer volunteer position I always do for Upward Bound – organizing & writing the contest exams & all the documents. I was given a lot of the information earlier than usual this year, so I’m getting an earlier start. I might just work away at it little by little and get it done super easy this time!

Friday I took a 2.5 hour ride on public transportation – bus, train, train, bus – to get to a friend’s house so that we could leave at 6am Saturday morning to go to her sister’s graduation at 10:30am. I had a great time – we’ve been good friends for a long time and – in the words of her family Saturday “You’re always at the major family events, you might as well just be family!” I also got to meet her new born (well 4 weeks on Tuesday) for the first time Friday – I’d seen pictures and had tons of conversations, but because of the aforementioned 2.5 hours hadn’t been able to meet little Riley Madison in person.

Bels & Riley

This is a selfie, but I forgot to get the other really good pictures from my friend. So this is the best I’ve got for now. You can still kinda see that she’s a cutie though!

She’s so darling and so EASY! Would you believe she already sleeps a good 5-7 hours every night?!? Anway, we got back from the graduation at 6pm, just in time for me to catch the 6:15 train back home (yep, my return trip didn’t include the first bus ride since she was able to drop me off directly at the train station).

I have another really busy week ahaed of me too – the highlights are: New Hire meeting tommorrow, RT Wednesday – Saturay, Brother’s AA graduation Thursday night, oh right and mother’s day today! Phew! And with that – Happy mother’s day to all the mother’s out there!!

Blog News

I’m still kinda in a funk – not exactly a “I don’t want to blog funk” but a “I don’t have time to blog right” funk. I’m trying, but I’m not visiting near as many of you as I would like and for that I”m really sorry. I hope it will change soon.

Been hard at work preparing for COYER Sign-ups this Saturday as well! Can’t wait!

Blog Ahead Update

Well I only have 3 posts scheduled at the moment, so I’m not doing too hot with this. Maybe I’ll manage it by the 14th but I’m not too optomistic.

Clean Sweep Arc Challenge Update

Another area I’m not doing so hot. I started an audio book for review last week and I’m enjoying it, but I just haven’t been listening as much as usual. And the book I’m reading is an ARC and it’s pretty good. But I’ve been reading it for weeks now! I finally hit the 50% point before falling asleep last night. I hope to finish it in a couple days.

#FitReaders Update

Finally something I’m doing well at! This past Saturday – Friday I did Zumba on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Then I did water aerobics on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I’ve decided I really need to add in some work with weights so after RT this week I’m going to start taking a weekly weight lifting class. My goal is still to average 10k steps daily and to track every bite.

Average steps: 10,7777 steps/day
Days counting calories: 7
Book budget money earned: $2

4 weeks and already sleeps 5-7 hours per night??? OMG, babies Mom is the luckiest person ever! I have three children and I was lucky if any of them slept 3 hours at the most for the first 6 months! Very lucky Mom. Good luck with the baby, shes beautiful!

I know! I had such a good time watching her, she’s got to be the easiest baby ever. I swear, she never even cried the whole time. A little fussing when she needed something, but not one full on cry in 5 days!

I can totally relate to the funk you’re in and have been feeling the same way! I’m not burned out I’m just out of time. The volunteer position sounds fun though bunches of work! Riley is adorable and what a good sleeper! It sounds like you’ve had a seriously busy but fun week. Hope next week is great though maybe a little less busy!

I’m having an amazing week, but not less busy – I’m at RT!! Squee!

I don’t feel like my time issues will resolve themselves anytime soon, either. I may need to accept that I have to change the kind of blogger I am and post less. The volunteer position is awesome, I always enjoy it, but it is a TON of work. Totally worth it for the kids though 🙂

      Anywho, have a great week!

She’s such a little beautie! My son was like that. An easy pregnancy and he slept through the night. I hated to wake him for feeding but he went right back to sleep.
I wouldn’t worry much about a blog funk. It’s summer and most blogs slow down as we all get out in the yards and enjoy being outside.

That’s what she said about waking Riley for feedings. I went all prepared to have a crying baby waking me up all night, but ended up sleeping soundly all night 🙂 You’re right about summer – I do hope RT pulls me out of my funk!

  4. Michelle

She is super cute and how lucky she sleeps so long, Ryan did that but Julia UGH! She would stay away all night and sleep like after I had to get up. She was so annoying lol

That bus, train, train, bus ride was fun 🙂 It seemed like a quick ride talking to you on the phone but than again we tend to get caught up in our conversation we don’t ever notice the time until like 3 hours later 🙂

Have fun at RT but maybe it will get you out of your funk, I am hoping BEA does that for me.

    Have a great week Kim!

Yeah the bus, train, train, bus ride was super fast! I didn’t read near as much as I thought I would but it was more fun chatting 🙂 I RT pulls me out of my funk too!

I love it! I don’t think it matters you can’t swim since you never want to go deeper than chest or shoulder height anyway. The trick is to find the right instructors. Some are way too easy! But others are great at using the natural resistence of the water to make it challenging. You should definitely try it!

    • Berls

I sure hope so! I’m not sure how much is funk and how much is being too busy – hopefully life will slow a bit and I’ll get the blogger buzz back 🙂

  5. Ramona

You’re looking good, ducks, and that’s a really good selfie! She IS a cutie pie! Don’t worry about not getting everything done, the important thing is that you’re doing your exercising and still reading. Why am I not surprised that in the middle of a hectic week you took a umpteen-hour trip to be there for a friend? You’re a really good friend 🙂

Thanks Ramona – I appreciate that 🙂 I try, but have felt really guilty about my blog lately. I feel like an awful blog buddy right now – I’m just not making it to anyone’s posts 🙁 Gonna try really hard this week though! Happy mother’s day to you and have a great week!

That baby is so cute ! And already sleeping that much ?! The mother must be happy ! If you happen to know one, would give me a link to a zumba video ? I’d love to see what it’s like – already looked, but from the point of view of someone who already practises, it’s better. Have a great week and have fun at RT with Brandee and Lexxie !
