Task It Tuesday Week One

March 31, 2015 Task It Tuesday 22

Welcome to Task It Tuesday!

What is Task It Tuesday? It is where every week I list a task that I would like to accomplish on my blog before next Tuesday. It can be big or small but the goal is to get something done that will make my blog/reading life/challenges run smoother, faster, or more efficient!

Task It Tuesday Week One

I’ve contemplated joining in on this a few times, because I feel more successful when I’m accountable. But this past week’s bloggiesta made me realize just how good I do with a to do list. I rocked bloggiesta, to the point that the only oustanding item on my to-do list is replying to old comments (which I’ll be doing forever I think). And why? Because I had a to-do list. Now I can’t make every week’s to-do list like bloggiesta’s, but I can have a simple list that keeps me on track. so for my Task It Tuesday Week One, here’s my to-do list:

Tuesday

  • Cross Post Hope’s ReignDONE!
  • Add Task It Tuesday to Meme’s Archive DONE!

Wednesday

  • Setup Sunday Post
  • reply to 10 old comments – skipping. I had a really rough day 🙁

Thursday

  • Setup Outlander Thoughts for next Week
  • reply to 10 old comments

Friday

  • Cross Post A Witch Before Dying
  • reply to 10 old comments

Saturday

  • Update Sunday Post
  • reply to 10 old commentsYay!!! Finally! I suck at comments, clearly. I’m staying current though which is much easier than going back to old ones… guess I shouldn’t get behind right?

Sunday

  • Setup Task It Tuesday Week 2
  • reply to 10 old comments

Monday

  • Write blog post for author blog
  • reply to 10 old comments

As you can see I’m keeping it simple with just two tasks a day – one maintenance task and one catch up task (which will probably be comments forever and ever… LOL) I’ll update my progress here and let you know how I did next week.

If having a week to accomplish 1 task (or, a to do-list like me) inspires you, join in with Task It Tuesday! Do lists help you?

Well that was the idea, but I think I over shot my list a bit, I haven’t managed to do as much of it as I’d like. But I probably did more than I would have without it, right?

LOL Says the woman on Trello! I think next week’s list is going to be all about COYER and Trello for me. I need to get to work on that!

I always find it interesting how some people work better with a deadline or to-do list and other don’t. I can’t deal with deadlines, ugh they make me stress and feel rushed. But I do like a to-do list, although mine are usually more in my head. Good luck with your tasks and I am curious to see how you did with your goals next week.

I have to write things down. It’s almost a compulsion… I just have to have a list where I can cross things off. Whatever work, right? Deadlines are a mixed bag for me. If they’re reasonable, they inspire me. If unrealistic, I shut down.

I do too. I think I’m always tweaking how I do things based on what I see others doing. Trying to find the perfect system!

Sounds great 🙂 I love the idea of having some tasks for each day! That way you don’t have ten of them ending up all waiting for you on Sunday evening. And with some peer-pressure from posting the lists here, there is no way out haha.

The peer pressure is the key 😉 I love making lists, I just need to do better keeping them acheivable. I think this is doable.

Thanks Celine! Yeah, I make to-do lists daily too, though the blog tends to be an after thought for those lists. This way it has an exclusive list AND some accountability, which always hels me 🙂

I’ve said it before, lists are amazing 🙂 I’ve been living by them for about 10 years now, and it’s helped me a lot. Which I guess proves that I’m a bit of a control freak 😛 But there are far worse things to be, so I’m all right with that, lol. I love this new system of yours – simple and effective. You’ll do great!

Thanks Ramona! I love lists too – I make them like crazy. But I don’t always get around to everything (or even most everything) on my list. This way I’m hoping hte accountability will make me more effective.
