I juste love this meme, because I NEVER know what book y’all will pick. Last month was a total surprise – but a pleasant one as I ended up really enjoying the book you picked for me. I super excited what you’ll pick this month!
February 2015 Voting
Last month I barely made it through both my #2015HW books (if you don’t know what that is – check out the Reading Assignment Challenge details)… as in I finished my last book less than an hour before the deadline. EEK! To avoided that happening again, I decided to make all three of my choices this month books that are on my #2015HW list. And they’re all part of series I’ve already started, so I can make progress on wrapping some of those series up!
My Three Choices
These are all eBooks that I got super cheap or free – so #COYER approved!
- At Grave’s End (Night Huntress #3) by Jeaniene Frost
It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield’s life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she’s successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat’s worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover’s finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.
As if that wasn’t enough, a woman from Bones’s past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat’s about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she’s learned as a special agent won’t help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.
I started this series almost two years ago and I seem to only get to a book a year. At least I’ll get to two this year, since I have two on my #2015HW list. Will this be the month I start book 3?
- Close Obsession (The Krinar Chronicles #2) by Anna Zaires
In Lenkarda – the main Krinar colony on Earth – Mia is completely at Korum’s mercy. With no way to leave and no idea how to operate even the most basic Krinar technology, she has no choice but to trust the K who brought her there – the lover whom she had betrayed.
Will he keep his promise to bring her home, or is she destined to be his prisoner forever? Can a human become a part of Krinar society? Does Korum love her, or does he only wish to possess her?
Read on to find out . . .
WARNING: This book contains strong sexual content and explicit language and is not suitable for readers under 18.
I read book 1 in the Krinar Chronicles during the very FIRST #COYER and at that time the authors gave me book 2 and 3 to review as well. And I really really enjoyed book 1, but… as you can see I’m way tardy on that (not that I promised a time, but still)! So maybe it’s time to finally make that right?
- Gerard’s Beauty (Kingdom #2) by Marie Hall
A not so classic retelling of Beauty and the Beast, as seen through the eyes of the villain…
Betty Hart has had it with men. Jilted in love, her life now consists of shelving books by day, watching too much Anime by night, and occasionally dressing up like a superhero on the weekends with her fellow ‘Bleeding Heart’ nerds. Men are not welcome and very much unwanted. Especially the sexy Frenchman who saunters into her library reeking of alcohol and looking like he went one too many rounds in the ring.
Gerard Caron is in trouble. Again. Caught with his pants down (literally) he’s forced to seek asylum on Earth while his fairy godmother tries to keep Prince Charming from going all ‘Off with his head’. Maybe, messing around with the King’s daughter hadn’t been such a great idea after all, not that Gerard knew the silly redhead was a princess. But his fairy godmother knows the only way to save his life is to finally pair Gerard with his perfect mate, whether he’s willing or not.
From the moment Gerard lays eyes on the nerdy librarian he knows he must have her, but Betty is unlike any woman he’s ever known. He thought Betty would come as willingly to his bed as every other woman before her, but she is a woman who demands respect and even… horror of all horrors… love. Is it possible for a self-proclaimed Casanova to change his ways?
I started this series by my FAVORITE author, Marie Hall, last year and just haven’t gotten back to it. I love everything she writes – so I don’t know what’s taking me so long!
See why I can’t decide which one to pick up first? They’re all so different and I’m already committed to each of the stories, so I know that I’m likely to enjoy each of them. So glad y’all get to make this tough choice for me 🙂
Thanks for playing along! Now head over to Because Reading for the linky! Even if you’re not joining in, you can vote 🙂
