Welcome to the 75th Edition of My Sunday Post!
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.
News at Home
Another really busy week! I’m trying to stay off my foot, but that’s super hard when you have so much to do! I’ve done pretty good – with the exception of Tuesday and Wednesday when I observed my friend’s 8th grade English Language Arts class. And I have to say, I loved it. Even though I enjoyed high school – my instincts were right, Middle School is where I want to be. At least for now. And there’s a decent chance that I could get a job at that school, which is super exciting. So, now that I’ve decided 100% what I want to do, I scheduled my certification exam and I’ll be taking it Thursday. Cross your fingers for me, I’ll be studying like a mad woman this week.
I’m also knitting a baby blanket right now for a friend and it’s taking so much longer than normal because I have to knit holding the thread double and I swear I’m spending more of my time untangling than knitting! So any of you knitters out there that have any tips for dealing with knitting holding threads double, I’m all ears 🙂
Blog News
I’m still working on removing my real life connection to the blog via social media – I didn’t work on it much this week and probably won’t this upcoming week just because I have a lot of other things (especially studying) going on.

Hosted by Books, Movies, Reviews. Oh My! & Fantasy is More Fun
Round two of Murder at the Reinhart wrapped up and we announced the winner yesterday – Congratulations again to Colleen and her super sleuth Shelby! I’m excited to share the final round with y’all starting tomorrow, but also super sad this is already almost over. I feel certain that Stormi will do other versions of this in the future. The final round in Laura Bradford and Katie Hayoz and it’s so good! Thanks for supporting the authors and voting 🙂
#FitReaders Update
Because of my foot injury I altered my goal for the time being – instead of aiming for 10,000 steps a day I’m shooting for 1 hour of physical activity average a day.
Average activity: 65 minutes/day (laps at the pool!)
Days counting calories: 7
Book budget money earned: $2.00 (woot, I’m back on track!)
I also got my newest fitness device – I upgraded to the Fitbit Charge this week and I’m so excited about it. I’m bummed that I’m not really doing steps right now, but it’s still pretty great.

I’ve fallen a bit behind on my reading, but I did manage to read a few goodies this week:
Michelle @ Because Reading reviewed another App this week – Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 – and yeah, just from the review I’m freaked out! And she also shared the Top 10 Apps she can’t live with out. Love these lists!
Carmel @ Rabid Reads asked: What are your SFF Deal Breakers? She’s even stricter than I am 🙂

I’m thrilled you’ve decided the age group you want to teach, Berls. It takes a special person to teach in middle school, so my hat’s off to you! 🙂 As for your knitting issue….when I knit with two yarns (actually I always do this) I roll both skeins into a ball – together – so it comes off the ball kind of as one thread. Does that make sense? I need pictures! *ha* Let me know if it doesn’t make sense. Or if you already do this, then I’m sorry I have no tips! 😀 Keep trying to stay off that foot, girlie! And I hope you’re having a great week!

Good luck on your exam! It’s exciting that you know what you want to do now! Although I shudder at the thought of middle school kids! I was picked on pretty badly.
Voyager! I need to read that one! I keep telling myself to get to it, but then I put it off, and now it’s been like two years. *sigh*

Good luck with your exma and that must feel great knowing what you want to do. I hope your foot recovers son, how long do you have to stay off it? Sounds like you had a busy week, I hope you have some less busy weeks soon!
And I realize I totally forgot to vote in the Reinhart event this week :(. I haven’t had time to do much blog commenting and all forgot about it. Ah well I hope I will remember to vote this week.

My fingers are crossed, I hope you’ll get the certification and the job you desire 🙂 I don’t have a clue how to knit that, but I remember hating crocheting metallic threads once for a Christmas decoration, I’ll never do it again !

Somehow I missed that you had hurt your foot? Whatever it is, I hope it heals soon! And good luck with the baby blanket. My daughter has more experience than I with knitting holding the yarn doubled, but you do have to do a bit of untangling periodically.
I am so behind on reading Murder at the Reinhart stories… ack.
Enjoy your new books!

How great that you’ve really decided where you want to be! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you for the school job and the knitting madness! Good luck with your exercise. I can imagine the injured foot is making things difficult but swimming is definitely a good replacement. Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

Woof at the Door looks cute! Good luck Thursday; I’ll be thinking of you. My stepmother taught middle school and really enjoyed it. Most of the time. 😀 Have a great week!

I hope you enjoy Voyager. I listened to it last year. I see LIFE OF A BLOGGER all over, is it a link up or just a subject meme?

Removing yourself is hard..but yep it is best teachers don’t appear online. My niece just uses her first name only. Hope your week is an enjoyable one, and you find time to keep that foot elevated!

Crazy week! I think you would be a good fit in HS or MS, the kids are going to love you! Plus all the recommendation you can give for the reader kids 😉
I am loving Murder at the Reinhart and my pick on this week! YAY!!! Looking forward to tomorrows post.
I hope your foot feels better soon.

I hope you’re right! I am really excited to start teaching again though – too bad I’m not likely to get hired somewhere until the Fall. Hopefully I get some readers!
I’m glad you’re enjoying Murder at the Reinhart – this week Katie Hayoz (my author) has a really really fun conclusion, so I’m really excited about that.
We do seriously need a chat day. Let’s plan on Friday – simply because I can’t afford any long chats until after my exam. I really should be studying now really… Have a great week 🙂

Good luck with your certification test, Berls!
I bought a Jawbone Up last month. I’m loving it! My favorite part is the idle reminder. I sit a lot at work and get really focused on something and won’t move for hours. I’ve got it set to vibrate if I don’t get up and move for an hour. It’s helped break up my day.

That’s something I do wish the Fitbit had, since a gentle reminder that I’ve got to get moving never hurts. But just having it around my wrist does wonders for my motivation to move – it’s a little harder right now since I’m swimming not walking – hopefully I can get back on my foot soon!

I’m sure you’ll ace your certification exam, Berls! And I’m so happy you know what grades you’d like to teach, and that there’s even an opening for you at a school where you already know a teacher. I knew a couple of other teachers at the school where I teach now, and it definitely makes things easier to have a few known faces in the teachers’ lounge 😀
I hope your foot will be all healed very soon! You’ve been doing great at swimming instead of walking, so you definitely deserve your $2 towards new books.
I’ve been really busy lately, too, and I haven’t had time to keep up with the Murder at the Reinhart feature, which makes me really sad 🙁
Have a fantastic week ahead! I’ll send you calm thoughts on Thursday for your exam 🙂

Thanks Lexxie – I hope you’re right. I took a practice one before doing any studying and got 69% which means I only need 1% more to pass and I’m studying so I think I’ll be okay. But still, cross those fingers 😉
I really hope I’m able to get the job at that school – knowing someone I’d be working with would make such a difference! The school is an hour drive each way, but it’s a nice hour and with audiobooks I don’t think I’d mind it one bit.
OMG you have no idea how much I’m hoping it will be healed soon – this sitting is not for me!
Aww too bad you haven’t been able to keep up with the Reinhart – you can’t vote, but you can still go back and read. And this week is your friend Katie, so I know she’ll remind you, right? Have a great week!
