FitReaders2015

#FitReaders is an online community started to help each other commit to health and exercise goals. It’s just about getting up and moving and supporting each other! You in? Check out the details with the hosts, Geeky Bloggers Book Blog & That’s What I’m Talking About.

I’ve gotten off to a really good start this year! I think I’m more confident this year about my ability to stick to my goals because last year went so well. My goals right now are to walk 10k steps a day (on average) and to journal every day what I eat. I’m taking a light approach to diet, because I want to do what I did last year – keep it low pressure. My only goal last year with walking was just to move every day (though I had different goals throughout the year, that was the main one) and I feel like not putting too much pressure really helped me be successful, so I’m hoping that will work with diet too! Anyway here’s my week 1 (I’m throwing Jan 1 in with this week).

Check-in Week 1:

To help keep myself motivated, I earn book buying money for meeting my goals. For every week I average 10k steps (or more) per day, I get $1.00 and for each week I keep my food journal (regardless of what I eat) I earn $1.00. So let’s see what I earned this week!

4,834 steps ( 2.23 miles)6,806 steps (3.14 miles)14,807 steps ( 6.85 miles)11,805 steps (5.45 miles)13,768 steps ( 6.37 miles)10,293 steps ( 4.75 miles)
Day Calorie Goal Steps
Day 1, Thursday 1/1 under calories goal 15,040 steps ( 6.94 miles)
Day 2, Friday 1/2 under calories gaol 13,618 steps ( 6.29 miles)
Day 3, Saturday 1/3 – Rest Day! under calories goal
Day 4, Sunday 1/4 under calories goal
Day 5, Monday 1/5 under calories goal
Day 6, Tuesday 1/6 under calories goal
Day 7, Wednesday 1/7 under calories goal
Day 8, Thursday 1/8 under calories goal
Totals: 8 days keeping food journal 11,371 average steps/day
Book Money Earned: $1.00 $1.00
Woot! I made my goals for check-in week 1! Here’s hoping next week goes as well :)

You are doing great! I’ve worked out 5 times this week so I’m really happy with that. And yesterday I started really watching my diet too. I didn’t want to jump in and try to do everything at once so I’m taking it slowly and hopefully that way I’ll stick with it this year! I use an app on my phone to track what I eat as it’s just easier for me that way and I’m going to copy your goal of money for every week I fill it out. I love that you don’t worry about what goes in it, just the actual tracking. That makes perfect sense as I tend to give up after a bad day and I think this will work better for me. Thanks for the idea :)

Way to go! I did horrible, but I wrote about it so maybe it will make me not want to do so horrible next time..lol. I went to use dad’s treadmill but it’s not working so now that really makes me disappointed. :( I am hoping it’s just cause it needs new batteries. :(
