Out With The Old & In With The New | August 2014

December 29, 2014 Blog Fun 15

Michelle @ Because Reading & I are recapping 2014 and looking ahead to 2015 the next 5 days. Feel free to join us! I’ll be sharing highlights month-by-month and giving you a peak at my goals for 2015.

Out With The Old: August 2014

Some Quick Facts:

August was a month of milestones- which isn’t too surprising, since I started blogging in July and really connected in August. For one, it was my second time participating in the Beat the Heat Read-a-thon Hosted by Reanna @ Phantasmic Reads & Jessi @ Novel Heartbeat – which was my FIRST EVER read-a-thon. Since I’m a Read-a-thon addict, this is where it all started. It’s was also the one year birthday of COYER – as in where it all started. It was nice reminiscing and sharing with you all where is all started.

In With The New: Goal #8

In August I made the shift on Thursdays from Life of A Blogger Posts to Outlander Thoughts. I loved doing the Outlander Posts and I’ll definitely do them again when Outlander comes back – but I missed the bit of me that Life of A Blogger gave to the blog.

And that’s goal #8. Make this blog even more ME. I’ve changed how I do my book reviews – they’re less structured and more my personality. I want to continue that. I also just want to share more about myself though – whether it’s by picking back up the Life of a Blogger postsm or a random fun post. So in 2015, prepare to see more ME 🙂

Do you remember August? Do you stick strictly to books or do you veer off topic to yourself a bit?

I’m glad you like the change Brandee! I think the structure was good at first, it helped me get used to writing my reviews. But I’m also glad I’ve let the structure go, because now I feel more free to just say what I felt.

Can’t wait for May! Its going to be awesome!!!

I’m totally a read-a-thon addict also. Although I have slowed down. I got a bit burnt out towards the end of this year. I’m participating in the COYER read-a-thons, bout of books, dewey’s, and probably a few other read-a-thons this year. Don’t bother me while Dewey’s read-a-thon is going on is my rule for friends and family. I have some serious reading to get done. I finished a 356 page book last time plus started another one.

I did Dewey’s for the first time this year and it was so much fun! That’s going to be my rule in the spring too! I read a few smaller books and fell asleep on one longer one lol! So glad you’re still in for COYER!

I am looking forward to see more of you on your blog. I think personalizing your blog, can really add something, but it can be very difficult as well. I struggled with that in 2014 by adding more personality to my Sunday Posts and adding Lola’s Ramblings and I think I kinda succeed, although it was really difficult at first.

I think I found your blog somewhere around June/July/August when Coyer started. And it’s been one of my favourite blogs ever since 🙂

Thanks Loupe! I really enjoyed doing the Outlander posts, so I’m looking forward to doing them again when the show starts back up. Oh I hope you enjoy Queen of Someday – I loved it!

Lol I think it’s always interesting to learn about others – don’t have to be doing super exciting things to be interesting 🙂 You should do it!
