A Month of Giving Thanks is a month-long challenge. Every day from November 1st to November 30th I will be sharing the love and being thankful by spotlighting some bloggers and books that I’ve been thankful for this year.
Please note that there is no way that I will be able to express my gratitude to everyone of you in just 30 days. I love everyone who visits the blog and even if I don’t get to single you this year, please know that I appreciate you!
A Month of Giving Thanks Day 4
Today I’d like to thank:
Initially I was going to split The Book Nympho into separate posts for the two main bloggers, but in the interests of getting to as many people as possible this month, I’m going to group them into one lump. Jennifer (THE Book Nympho) and Jonetta (reviewer at The Book Nympho) are a huge part of how I became a blogger, though I don’t know if they realize that. I met them both long before I started blogging through a Shelfari Urban Fantasy group. I had so much fun with that group and discovered so many books – and the wonderful world of book blogging. I’m sad to say that as I got more involved with the blog I ended up leaving the group, but thankfully I’ve managed to keep up with some of my favorite people from the group through their blogs. The Book Nympho was the VERY FIRST BLOG I started stalking. At the time, I was too shy to comment and I had no idea about officially following. But I checked in almost every day. And started thinking that I wanted to do this too. I read in a comment that The Book Nympho had been around for a little over a year and thought, if they could be this great in just a year maybe I can do something smaller. And the wheels started turning…
But I owe The Book Nympho for more than my blog getting started. I’ve added so many books to my collection because of these ladies – including some incredible giveaway wins. The Book Nympho was also the reason I picked up my first Audiobook – and well, the rest is history. I’m an addict. The series I’m thankful for today I discovered as a direct result of Jennifer and Jonetta talking about this really great book boyfriend on twitter and they kept saying he was Terrible. I was confused and intrigued. And now, I’m just so thankful. (And desperate for the next one!)

THE DEPARTED HAVE ARRIVED.
The world is not the way it was. The dead have risen, and the living are under attack. The powerful Church of Real Truth, in charge since the government fell, has sworn to reimburse citizens being harassed by the deceased. Enter Chess Putnam, a fully tattooed witch and freewheeling ghost hunter. She’s got a real talent for banishing the wicked dead. But Chess is keeping a dark secret: She owes a lot of money to a murderous drug lord named Bump, who wants immediate payback in the form of a dangerous job that involves black magic, human sacrifice, a nefarious demonic creature, and enough wicked energy to wipe out a city of souls. Toss in lust for a rival gang leader and a dangerous attraction to Bump’s ruthless enforcer, and Chess begins to wonder if the rush is really worth it. Hell, yeah.
This series is a must for any fan of Dark Urban Fantasy. And I definitely recommend it on audio – Bahni Turpin is a phenomenal narrator!
Go give Jennifer & Jonetta @ The Book Nympho some love and add Downside Ghosts to your Goodreads shelves! Who are you thankful for? Add your links below and visit the other participating bloggers 🙂
