CoyerSV Wrap Up

I can’t believe it’s time to wrap up COYER-SV 2014! When Michelle and I cooked this thing up I was worried about how long it was, but the time flew by! I hope everyone had as much fun as I did and were a wee-bit successful clearing out your TBRs!

Before we get too far into this post, I want to give a shout out to the best co-host and friend a girl could ask for! Michelle @ Because Reading made every logo you saw this summer and with those readathons, that wasn’t any small order. I swear, she pulls them out of no-where! I asked her a week before the readathons started if she thought we could do logos for each one and BAM! she had them. So please, give her a round of applause! She pulled together quite a few logos/buttons just for this post actually! Anyway, I can’t imagine doing this challenge without her, so thanks for putting up with me Michelle!

How I Did

So before I get to the prizes and such, let me just recap how I did. I didn’t set myself a real goal at the start of the summer because I had no idea what I could read in this time. But as the summer progressed I made myself a goal of 30 reads & reviews. Technically I only got in 29, but I have like 4 reviews scheduled for the upcoming weeks, so I’m calling it a success.

Invalid challenge name.

How’d you do? Did you make your COYER-SV goals?

Winners

I’m not sure what I expected, but it certainly wasn’t 719 reviews! Y’all really knocked COYER-SV out of the park! But we could only pick two winners (using random.org) so…

drum roll….

Congratulations to….

Bea @ Bea’s Book Nook for your review of Memento Mori by Katy O’Dowd (entry #534)
&
Sarah @ Flood of Books for your review of The Snow Bride by Debbie Macomber (entry #323)

Y’all have both won a $10 gift card to Amazon or B&N (Michelle or I will contact you shortly)! Congrats and thanks to everyone for participating.

In fact, we always like to give everyone a little badge to put up, because y’all are all winners! Grab this button for your blogs 🙂

Final FB Games Prize

We did have one last week on Facebook and Sarah sent us away with a really great question:

Since this is the last week of Summer Vacation, what was your favorite read this summer and why?

Lots of good sounding books were mentioned, and then Laura and I took over with a gush-fest over Marie Hall’s upcoming book The Wright Brother Sorrynotsorry, it was too good not to gush 😉

We also had Where Are You Wednesday and Freaky Friday From all three activities we used random.org to pick a winner for this week’s swag pack. Drum roll again please… the winner is…

Lola of Lola’s Reviews! Congratulations!!

Michelle will be contacting you for information to send you your prize 🙂

Moving Forward

As most of you know, COYER has been through several reiterations and Michelle and I have another edition already cooking! We’ll release all the details before too long, probably in November. So stay tuned for details…

Stay in the know

The best way to not miss any updates about future COYER events is probably to stalk either Michelle’s blog or mine.

But, even then, you might miss a post. So, be sure you’ve signed up for our email list. This will not be spam – I’ll send an email when we post about the next COYER – until then you won’t hear from me. Subscribe here and be sure to add us to your safe senders list, these emails like to go to spam folders.

Another good way to keep informed in the COYER Facebook Group. We’ll keep this open and feel free to keep chatting! It’s been lots of fun getting to know everyone there. If you haven’t joined the Facebook group yet, please do! If you have any trouble just shoot me a message with the email you use for FB and I’ll invite you to the group.

We want your help!

We always like to solicit a bit of feedback after a COYER event, so we can try to make the next one even better. We already got some really useful feedback at the twitter party and we’re already using that to craft the next event. But we do have a few other questions, so please take a minute to fill out this survey…

Did you do a wrap up post?

You’re not required to a wrap up post by any means, but I’ve noticed that some of you did and I’m thinking that I could easily miss some of them. So, for purely selfish reasons, I decide to create a linky real quick where you can enter your wrap up posts. This way I won’t miss them and the rest of the COYER participants can find them easily too.

Thanks so much for joining us for COYER-SV! Did you have fun? Will you join us again?

This was a great event, Berls and Michelle! I didn’t get to do the readathons (stuff always seems to come up), but I read 31 books and got 21 of them reviewed during the challenge period. A bunch of the others are coming over the next 2 months (some don’t publish until October, and I usually hang on until within a month of publication before posting a review.)

Thank you both so much for doing this. I’ll be watching for the next one!

I replied over at Because Reading but I’ll say here that I enjoyed COYER again and I’m looking forward to the next one. Also, I’m excited about winning, thanks so much! 🙂
