Jane is a young New York woman who can never seem to find the right man-perhaps because of her secret obsession with Mr. Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Predjudice. When a wealthy relative bequeaths her a trip to an English resort catering to Austen-obsessed women, however, Jane's fantasies of meeting the perfect Regency-era gentleman suddenly become more real than she ever could have imagined. Is this total immersion in a fake Austenland enough to make Jane kick the Austen obsession for good, or could all her dreams actually culminate in a Mr. Darcy of her own?

I’m a HUGE Jane Austen fan and particularly Pride & Prejudice. So, naturally, when I heard this book was being made into a film and I’d never read it, I put it on my list of books to read. And then the movie happened, and I still hadn’t read it. So I didn’t see the movie. If I see the movie first, I will not read the book. It’s ruined for me. I’ve learned that the hard way. And then my friend, Trish, told me how good this book was. She even gave me a copy because it was so good. But I had review books to read. Well… I’m actually ahead with review books right now. So guess what? I’m reading it! I just started last night, so this tease is for me too 🙂

I have heard about this one but wasn’t sure if I would like it. I guess I am the opposite of you..if I haven’t read the book and see the movie and I like it it will prompt me to read the book. I seen the first HP before ever reading the books. 🙂
