I’m really excited because I finally knocked an item off of my to-do list this weekend and COYER has a Mailing List! I know that people have fallen through the cracks who like to participate but have missed a post here and there about when the next COYER will be, deadlines, or twitter parties. So I had this idea to create a mailing list, but kept putting it on the back burner. Not anymore 🙂 If you want updates about COYER in your inbox, sign up for the mailing list here. I won’t spam you, I promise. This will only be emails with announcements about events and reminders. And you can always unsubscribe if I’m annoying you!
As for my reading, I feel like I fell behind this week, although I’m still maintaining my goal of three reviews a week, so maybe that’s just because I had more books I wanted to read this week than I got around to. Here’s the COYER Reviews I got up this time:
- [12 Aug] The Assassin and the Desert by Sarah J. Maas ★★★★½
- [13 Aug] Blood Games by Chloe Neill ★★★★
- [15 Aug] How to Date Dead Guys by Ann M. Noser ★★★★½
Facebook & Twitter Games & Giveaway
If you haven’t joined the Facebook group yet, please do! If you have any trouble just shoot me a message with the email you use for FB and I’ll invite you to the group. Anyway one of the games we’re playing over there is Tag! You’re it! Katherine kicked things off this week with this get to know you question:
What kind of reader are you? Are you super organized with a strict list as to what’s coming up next or are you spontaneous and chose what you want to read book by book depending on your mood?
I learned that I am by far the LEAST spontaneous reader in our group! What can I say? I love my calendars and lists! Can’t wait to see what’s up next! The way this works is that out of everyone who replies to the comments we use random.org to select someone who will ask the question next week. So… drum roll….
Tag! Brandee of Bookworm Brandee! You’re It!
Brandee, you’ll need to pose a fun/get to know you question for the group tomorrow (Monday) morning and then from there it will go just like last week. Come by the FB group to see what Brandee asks!
We also had Where Are You Wednesday and Freaky Friday on both twitter and FB. From all three activities we used random.org to pick a winner for this week’s swag pack. Drum roll again please… the winner is…
Nikita of NjKinny’s World of Books & Stuff! Congratulations!!
Michelle will be contacting you for information to send you your prize 🙂
Read-a-thon & Twitter Part Time Change!
We’re finishing up the Short & Sweet Read-a-thon today. I started the read-a-thon behind, so I’m not sure if I’ll make it through my goal books or not. But I plan to spend a good portion of today just reading, so let’s hope.
We’ve moved next week’s Twitter Party – we had planned on doing it at 4:00 PM EST on Sunday, but the final LitRate chat has been scheduled for that time. Since many of us participating in COYER are backers for LitRate, we don’t want to overlap with that. (If you aren’t a backer and don’t know what LitRate is, be sure to check it out! If you’re a book lover, you’ll want to support this site!) So we decided we’ll just push it back a bit – so mark your calendars: 5:30 PM EST Sunday 8/24. To see what time that is for you, here’s a countdown. And since you were already planning on being available, why not join the LitRate chat too?
Some Reviews Posted This Week
Holy Wow people! There are 450+ reviews posted! That’s freaking amazing! Here’s a few that caught my eye this week:
Brandee @ Bookworm Brandee reviewed Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs by Molly Harper. This review was so exciting because it was Brandee’s first audiobook ever and I was so excited to see if she would be a fan like me.
Tiffany @ A TiffyFit’s Reading Corner reviewed Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I just love reading reviews for this book, because almost everyone – like me – waited way too long to read it. See how Tiffany felt about waiting so long 🙂
Nikita @ NjKinny’s World of Books & Stuff reviewed Deep in Death by Colleen Helme. I’ve been following this series on audio so I was excited to see Nikita’s really thorough review of all I can look forward to when I read it!
Jennifer (one of our goodreads participants) reviewed Rumble by Ellen Hopkins. After reading Jennifer’s review I knew this was a book I need to read and I’D NEVER EVEN HEARD OF IT BEFORE! Seriously, this book tackles some deep themes and it sounds like it does it well.
Kathy @ My Nook, Books and More reviewed Cinder by Marissa Meyer. I love this book so much that I just love reading reviews by people who have recently discovered it and love it as much as I do.
Of course that’s not even close to a sampling of the reviews posted just last week, let alone during COYER-SV, so be sure to check out all the review links here. There’s bunches of goodies to read!
I hope everyone is having a great time! Let me know how COYER is going for you in the comments!!
