#COYER Summer Vacation Update | Rocking this Read-a-thon!

July 13, 2014 Challenges & Readathons, COYER 12

So I finally had a good week since #COYER started and I’m totally rocking this read-a-thon. I’ll have my 4th, 5th, and 6th book reviews up this week (I think), so I guess I’m not doing too shabby. I am, though, very behind on reading reviews, sign up posts, and comments. I’m sorry, I totally suck, but I hope to catch up by the end of the month. I wish I could say sooner, but I don’t want to flat out lie LOL! Hope you’re doing great!

Facebook & Twitter Games & Giveaway

If you haven’t joined the Facebook group yet, please do! If you have any trouble just shoot me a message with the email you use for FB and I’ll invite you to the group. Anyway one of the games we’re playing over there is Tag! You’re it! Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Book Views kicked things off this week with this get to know you question:

Do you participate in many different kinds of challenges, all the time? Or just one or two every now and then?

I enjoyed finding out that I’m not the only challenge addict – though a lot of you play it a lot safer than I do! The way this works is that out of everyone who replies to the comments we use random.org to select someone who will ask the question next week. So… drum roll….

Tag! Michelle @ Because Reading! You’re It! (I swear I use Random.Org for this and my lovely co-host came up!)

Michelle, you know the drill 😉 You’ll need to pose a fun/get to know you question for the group tomorrow (Monday) morning and then from there it will go just like last week. Come by the FB group to see what Michelle asks!

We also had a Where Are You Wednesday question and Freaky Friday on both twitter and FB. From all three activities we used random.org to pick a winner for this week’s swag pack. Drum roll again please… the winner is…

Brandee @ Bookworm Brandee! Congratulations!!

Michelle will be contacting you for information to send you your prize 🙂

This weekend’s Read-a-thon is going much better for me than last weeks… which isn’t hard since I didn’t read ANYTHING last week! I actually already finished one book Death of the Mad Hatter by Sarah J. Pepper and only have a few hours left on my audio pick Splintered by A.G. Howard. IMHO, Death of the Mad Hatter is MUCH better than Splintered so far, but we’ll see how it ends today. How are you doing?

Twitter Party Reminder

We wont be having a read-a-thon this weekend, but remember we will have a #COYER Twitter Party at 4:00 PM EST (so 3:00 PM CST) on Sunday July 20th. This a great chance for those of you who haven’t been active over in the Facebook group to get in a good chat 🙂 We’ll be using #COYER and I actually created a room at twchat – http://twchat.com/hashtag/COYER – you don’t have to use the room, but it *should* be an easier way to follow the conversation. We used another website before and it worked great but I couldn’t remember it’s name…

I hope everyone is having a great time! Let me know how COYER is going for you in the comments!!

I guess 50% isn’t too bad a percentage though, right? And I can definitely see why people like Splintered, it just wasn’t for the non-fan IMHO. oh well, you win some you lose some. I’m very happy I managed to read two books this read-a-thon though! After not even cracking open a book last weekend, this was a big plus!

I liked Splintered but found it a bit creepy/weird for my taste. As for the readathon, I got a little over half of Cress read, which is good given that I also read all of The Book of Life over the weekend. (The Book of Life doesn’t count for the Readathon, but it does for COYER-SV.)

For COYER, I’m doing OK. I’ve read 7 books since we started, and posted 5 reviews. I would like to have read and reviewed more, but it’s progress!

Me too 🙁 Maybe the hype did it a disservice because I expected more? But I honestly think I would have walked away with the same feeling – BORED :/ Oh well, you can’t love them all and I’m glad I read it so I can finally stop wondering if I would like it. Death of a Mad Hatter was definitely much better IMHO.
