Fairy Tales With A Twist!

This weekend, Friday July 11th – Sunday July 13th, we’re remembering our childhood Summer Vacations with the Fairy Tales With A Twist Read-a-thon! Here are the rules:

The Rules

1. Sign up on the linky below. No link required – just give us your name so we know you’re joining in.

2. Sometime between now and the end of the read-a-thon post on your blog, twitter, FB, Google+, Goodreads, Booklikes (you get the idea… somewhere!) that you’re participating. That’s the link you’ll need for the Rafflecopter.

3. Read books that are in someway related to a fairy tale. When you finish a book do a general update with a link that you can put on the Rafflecopter. Example – on Goodreads you could write: “Great, cute book! 4 stars! Full review coming soon!” and that would count. (For COYER participants, just do something quick and then update with full review for COYER linky)

4. Have FUN!!!

What I Plan to Read

I have several books on my Fairy Tales with a Twist list because of my Fairy Tale crazy co-host. Before meeting Michelle I had never read any Fairy Tale retellings. Now I’ve read all of the Lunar Chronicles (I’m actually ahead of her on that one now lol) and seem to gravitate toward those Fairy Tales ALMOST as much as she does. I own a couple that Michelle insisted I MUST read and this weekend my goal is to read them: 1 audiobook AND 1 physical book. If I manage to finish those, then I have plenty more I could add.

My Audiobook choice is Splintered by A. G. Howard

death of the mad hatter

My choice for a physical read is my eBook Death of the Mad Hatter by Sarah J. Pepper

What Fairy Tale retellings do you recommend? Will you be reading one this weekend with us?

So I only read one book for the fun in the sun readathon, busy weekend, but I’m hoping this weekend I’ll get to read more than one. I also have Splintered along with Unenchanted planned 😀

  2. Stormi

This one starts on my birthday!! Not saying how old I will be..lol. I actually have some books for this one!! I have an audio of Splintered that I need to listen too and Her Mad Hatter (kingdom #1)has been on my TBR list for a while. Oh and do you think The School of Good and Evil by Soman Chainani would fit into this read-a-thon? (not that I will probably get to it..lol)

Happy Birthday Stormi! Looks like we’ll both be listening to Splintered then 🙂 I looked up the School of Good and Evil – sounds good – but it doesn’t sound like it’s retelling any actual fairy tales, so I don’t think it would count, sorry :/ I’ve read Her Mad Hatter and enjoyed it, hope you do too!
