Sunday Post

Welcome to the 47th Edition of the Sunday Post! The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

Someday I’m going to write a Sunday Post and not start off by saying how incredibly busy and behind I’ve been. This week is unfortunately not that week. I will say, it was a very good week – but I feel so bad by how behind I am on replies to comments. And I’m behind on reading too. I’m hoping that I will have finished the book I was supposed to review on Friday by time this post goes live. Fingers crossed!!

So I was super busy this week because it was the event that I volunteer for on Friday and Saturday. But since I’m the testing coordinator, I was busy all week. I’m giving you the full story.. feel free to skip ahead to where I wrote “So that’s what I did all week! LOL 🙂

I finished writing all the tests and associated materials on Monday. Then I spent pretty much all day Tuesday at the school printing out all the test copies. Y’all I printed 2,881 pages! Which, I might point out, means I had written 167 pages of material! So guess what I did all day Wednesday? Organized those 2,881 pages (double sided whenever I could!) into testing envelopes – there were like 50 different envelopes I had to organize everything into and put seals and labels on (because they would be invalid if seal was broken). Then Thursday I setup the binders that all those papers would have to be organized into after the event (1 for each program participating). Then Friday was the big day! I have to say, I’m so excited because this was my second year doing this and I managed to iron out ALL the hiccups. Literally NOTHING went wrong and everything was so smooth. And so much easier than last year for absolutely everyone involved. But I was at the school from 10am until 7pm. Then I came home and proceeded to start organizing all those papers by program and event, type up all the scores (I’m the only one who knows who won until the award ceremony), and everything. I finished that at 1:30 am, because I was just two tired. I woke up at 10am Saturday and put everything I’d organized into neat piles into the binders – that only took me an hour. Now it’s all packed up and ready to go to the school.

ABC Materials

That’s everything all packed up ready to go. See those Binders? There’s more of them in the box. Thank goodness for that cart my mom let me borrow!!

As I write this post I’m waiting for the sporting events to be finished so I can quickly add their results, run up to the school, print out those results and add them to the binders. Then I will hand everything off and I’m done! Woo-hoo!

So that’s what I did all week! I’m looking forward to things slowing down a bit this week – just regular work instead of extra projects, but I’m really thrilled I got to support Upward Bound again this year and I hope to do it for many more years.

COYER is going strong – I have a separate update for that coming this afternoon. If you haven’t signed up please do here, we’re having a lot of fun! Also my June is Audiobook Month giveaway ends on Monday, so be sure to check out this week’s Fun Question for a chance to win. That’s all for me, y’all have a great week!

You’ve been productively busy and I’ve been lazily busy. Haha! Hubby & I have done nothing but watch Supernatural and *cough* enjoyed some adult activities. I feel a tad guilty about not getting stuff done, but screw it. We only get this time by ourselves once a year, so we’ve been relaxing. 😀 Have a wonderful week! 🙂

LOL I like that “lazily busy”! I say more power to you, we all need some of those down times from time to time. I’m going to demand one week of being “lazily busy” before the end of this summer.

Sounds like a crazy week! I’ve gotten 3 books read for COYER and am working on #4! Though I do need to get better about the facebook/twitter stuff. Thanks so much for hosting! It’s great to have some motivation. Have a great and dare I say calmer week!

See, if that was me trying to organise all those bits of paper, half of them would be printed wrong, and the rest would be doodled on or covered in paw prints.
I doff my cap at you madam for having such organisational skills!
And never apologise for being busy. Busy rules!

Thanks Kate! I kind of love organizing… I think a job making schedules and organizing bits of paper would be kinda ideal for me, especially if I could just put in an audio book while I do it.

Sounds busy. I can relate. I\’ve been redesigning my blog and I just put up a giveaway and am about to go on vacation with no internet. I’ll be worrying over it the entire time. Hope it gets better for you.

Try to enjoy your vacation – I go back and forth between looking forward to being without internet and being terrified of it. There’s a part of me that thinks it’s the only way to really relax, but the other part just feels so cut off!

Wow, you have been busy! That’s some serious printing. I usually get frustrated when technology doesn’t work the way it is supposed to i.e. printers jamming or it suddenly says on my computer ‘Can’t find the printer’ what! It looks like it went all very smoothly for you. Well done as well on your book wins this week – that was indeed a lucky week.Peggy @ The Pegster Reads

That’s always the worst part of large print/copy jobs. I was thrilled – their machine was brand new and only jammed 1 time! And it was so easy to fix when it did. If only it always went that way!

Oh absolutely 🙂 The program helps kids in at risk homes to successfully finish high school and go to college – whether it be community or 4 year or even trade school. This was an event where they get to compete in UIL like tests and get a little positive reinforcement. I love be part of the program. Totally worth it 🙂
