Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

Where did last week go? I swear I woke up and all of a sudden it was Saturday again! I had another fairly busy week and I’m really looking forward to a slow one someday. Not sure when that’ll happen though! Let’s see – I kicked off the week looking for jobs and updating my resume. I’ve all but officially thrown in the towel on grad school. I’m just so burnt out and I really can’t seem to find the motivation to care about anything related to my field right now. So it’s time to find a job! I’ve also been busy this week with a volunteer position I have every summer. I help the local Upward Bound programs with their Academic Bowl Competition by coordinating the contest. There are 11 subjects and I write all the tests for the contest, including answer sheets, administrative keys, and compile all the materials. The contest is this upcoming Friday and then the awards ceremony is on Saturday, so I’ll be super busy with that this next week.

On the blog COYER Summer Vacation has officially started! If you haven’t signed up yet you still can – all the way until August 15th! Check it out and join us, we’re already having a ton of fun 🙂 I’m trying to push myself quickly through a book that I’ve got on my calendar for review this upcoming Friday – that will be my first COYER Review. I also sat down this week and got myself a full week ahead with everything except things that can’t be done in advance (but I have them started too!). I had been three weeks ahead a few months ago and it was so much easier to maintain the blog, but I fell behind and everything suffered. So I’m thrilled to be ahead again and hopefully will get back to three weeks soon. Anyway, that’s it for me, y’all have a great week!

Thanks Michelle! I saw DPF post that it was available on netgally and I jumped on that. I loved her Horngate Witches series (which just got picked up for a couple more books, yay!) so I’m really excited to read it.

Good luck on the job hunt too! And yay for COYER! I’m so behind, but I’m hoping to get to peoples’ posts tomorrow!

I’m playing catch up on comments, but I still wanted you to know I appreciated your comment. So please forgive my tardy reply!

Thanks Katherine! I hope you’re enjoying it – I’ve been having a blast and the fairy tale read-a-thon was a success for me (the first one I was a disaster LOL).

  1. Rita @ My Home of Books

Good luck with the job search. I can understand how schooling can burn someone out and just take so dang long to get finished before the actual job. I think it’s great that you do volunteer work- yay for you! I joined COYER and have already started some older books I had on my kindle.

I’m an audiobook junkie myself. I still need to read the Grisha series. I think I am going to go the audiobook route for that one.

Enjoy your goodies and happy reading 🙂
