Life of a Blogger is a weekly meme hosted by Jessi @ Novel Heartbeat. I’m thrilled to join in and I hope to participate every week from here on out. I hope you’ll join in too – check out the details here!

This week’s topic: 101 Things I Love

Well since I really love lists, I’ll just jump into this one without discussion… here we go:

I Love…

  1. My brother, Philip.
  2. My mom.
  3. My dad.
  4. My boyfriend, Kiko.
  5. My stepson, Franky.
  6. My dog, Buffy.
  7. My friends
  8. My blog/blogging.
  9. Reading. Duh.
  10. Writing.
  11. The dream of being a successful author.
  12. Sitting on the balcony and reading when it raining out.
  13. The smell of rain.
  14. Lying outside on a warm summer day, soaking in the sun.
  15. The water. The smell of water and being in and/or on the water.
  16. The Little Mermaid. The first Disney princess I wanted to be. Probably because of #15.
  17. Animals. And especially dogs.
  18. Traveling by train.
  19. Traveling by ship.
  20. The feel of a cool breeze on a hot day.
  21. The country (rural areas)
  22. The memory of when I first met my stepson.
  23. The memories from when my stepson was still really little (5/6 years old).
  24. Teaching my stepson how to swim.
  25. The first time my stepson called me mom.
  26. Actually, every time he calls me mom.
  27. British Accents.
  28. Australian Accents.
  29. Spanish Accents. (so basically – not American accents lol)
  30. Tear-jerkers (movies and books)
  31. True stories (movies more than books)
  32. Babies. And their laughter.
  33. Celebrating the holidays with my boyfriend and his son.
  34. That we get along with my stepson’s family and really consider them family too.
  35. The leaves changing color in the fall.
  36. Falling back for Daylight Savings Time (and not springing forward!!)
  37. Puzzles. I love the satisfaction of solving a puzzle.
  38. Watching my boyfriend play with my dog.
  39. Walking my dog.
  40. Taking my dog to the dog park and watching her play with other dogs.
  41. Cuddling with my dog. (Yes… I REALLY love my dog)
  42. Season 6 ofย Buffy the Vampire Slayer
  43. Going grocery shopping every Friday with my mom and brother.
  44. Talking to authors.
  45. Convincing friends to read really fantastic books.
  46. Coloring. (As in coloring with crayons in a coloring book. It’s so relaxing!)
  47. Organizing things. I’ve voluntarily organized many freezers when visiting friends homes because I love to do it.
  48. Making to-do lists. It makes me feel in control, even if I don’t get to everything on them.
  49. Making schedules. Same idea as #49.
  50. Teaching and tutoring. I love helping people learn and seeing that moment that they get it.
  51. Playing video games.
  52. Doing 5ks with my brother.
  53. Pride and Prejudice. And Mr. Darcy of course.
  54. Learning new things/skills.
  55. Receiving real letters in the mail.
  56. Winning. Yes, I’m super competitive.
  57. DAIRY. Milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream – it’s dairy? I love it!
  58. Watching my dog make a nest out of the blankets. It’s hilarious.
  59. The satisfaction of completing my walk/jogs during the week.
  60. That I live in Texas again. I really missed it here when I lived in St. louis.

Okay — this was seriously hard!! I started running out of things to write by number 27!! Then I got a second wind … which fizzled out after 50 and I’m lucky I made it to 60. So sorry – but I can’t think of 101 things!!!

Can you do better than I did? I know I must love more than this…

Wow, I don’t think I could have come up with 101 things either! That’s awesome you were able to come up with over 50!

I’m also with you – I use organizing as a procrastination tactic – it makes me feel like I’m being productive even though I’m not doing what I’m supposed to be doing! LOL I especially love to make spreadsheets and to-do lists when I’m in this “organizing, procrastinating mode” haha

Oh yeah I have so many spreadsheets and to-do lists that are products of my extreme procrastination. It’s when I completely give up on pretending to be productive that I really worry. (I’m currently there…) Coming up with 101 things I hate for this week wasn’t easy either.

That’s such a great idea! I like doing things to remind me how good I have it – I keep a jar all year where I write on a slip of paper at the end of every day the best moment of the day. Sometimes I pull out random entries to get myself in a better mood. And on NYE I read the whole jar to remind myself what a great year I had. It’s amazing how much it impacts my mindset.

101 is pretty hard core so I think you did an awesome job.

Aussie accents rock even though mine isn’t that strong. Mine is like the diet Coke version of Aussie accents until I’m overseas and then without realising it, my vowels start lengthening and slang gets more pronounced.

Thanks – I’m apparently not as good at making lists as I thought I was LOL.

I adore all aussie accents – that’s too funny about how yours is more pronounced overseas! I wonder if it’s a natural sort of aussie pride? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oooo. British accents. I love those too! I spent a year in Scotland, and sometimes I’d just sit in a pub and listen to people talk. Lol.
This was a really fun challenge to come up with 101 things – I actually made it! It was so hard.
I enjoyed reading your list. ๐Ÿ™‚

It really is! It didn’t sound so long to me and then I started working on the list and… well you saw! LOL What a great idea to ask for your kids input, I can’t wait to see what they came up with for you ๐Ÿ™‚

101 was a lot to come up with! It took me a couple hours of working on it on and off (and checking other people’s lists for ideas). Next week is going to be even harder! I totally have colouring books on my list as well. It is relaxing!

I LOVE coloring. A couple year’s ago, when I was feeling particularly stressed I went to the dollar tree and bought myself a coloring book, crayons, and markers. Every now and then I pull it out and work on a picture until I feel relaxed!

I’m impressed you made it to 60, Berls! I love your list though. ๐Ÿ™‚ P&P and Mr. Darcy would make my list as well. I LOVE COLORING TOO!! I still have a coloring book my parents brought me from Hawaii when I was like 10…the pictures are detailed and so I didn’t finish it. I still like to sit down and work at it with my BIG box of crayons. And I WISH I loved to organize. *ha*

I think I use organizing as a procrastinating tactic… like I’m working, so it’s not bad – except that I’m not doing the work I’m actually supposed to be doing LOL. And thank you, Brandee- I’m actually impressed I made it to 60 too. Turned out to be harder than I thought!

LOL thanks! It’s funny because I thought, “Oh this week’s life of a blogger post is going to be easy! It’s just a list…” and then I got stuck over and over. I wondered if I was terribly unappreciative of my life, not able to name 101 things I love!
