Sunday Post | 34th Edition

March 16, 2014 Sunday Post 24

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

This past week has been a week of playing catch up and I’m pleased to report I’m almost there! I still need to catch up on COYER posts, but I hope to spend much of today doing just that. I spent most of last week writing posts that I’d gotten behind on and my calendar is looking beautifully blue again (blue is my color for scheduled posts). And I realized that now that I’m not behind all the time I can actually do 3 book reviews a week again instead of just two – especially at the rate I’m devouring audio books. So I’ll be saying goodbye to my While I’m Reading Posts (a concept I really liked but found very labor intensive and hard to keep up with) and replacing them with a review every Monday starting in April. I spent Thursday cross posting reviews that I’ve written pretty much since the new year – that took most the day, but I’m current! Yay! And I have an item on my calendar to cross list the week’s reviews every Saturday, so I shouldn’t get behind with that again. I also caught up on comments! Friday evening and Saturday morning I spent roughly 8-9 hours replying to over 150 comments that I had gotten behind on! I’m really hoping I won’t fall behind again, but comments do seem to be a weak spot for me. All in all, I’m feeling very blog productive this week!

Personally things went really well this week too – I finally had a “this is the way it is” talk with my adviser for Grad School and I think my finally saying what I can and cannot tolerate made him respect me a little more – even if I know it wasn’t what he wanted to hear. Who knows, maybe I’ll actually survive grad school and get my PhD after all! So all in all, I’m feeling very positive going into this week and looking forward to a great week – I plan to do some serious reading today (inbetween commenting on COYER posts) and getting my 5k training back on track Monday. Hope everyone has had a great week too!

Blogosphere Fun

I didn’t manage to get around the blogosphere quite as much as I would have liked this week. However, I did mention a few weeks ago that Ashley @ Nose Graze was going to be launching her own web server. We’ll it’s officially open for business! She’s also got some other great promotions and wedding news, go check out her post.

New Additions to My Shelf

Last week I didn’t add any books to my shelf and it seems I was determined to make up for it by adding way too many this week. *sigh* I didn’t spend much  money though… these are almost all freebies! Thanks to Tabitha Short, Random House Audio, Shannon A. Thompson, IFB Tours, and Cheyanne Young!

*Shopping Cart Links will take you to Amazon/Audible, Info Links will take you to Goodreads*

I’ll admit Deviant was a ” that cover is hot” purchase lol. But it was free, so why not? Fashionably Dead sounds like it will be a fun read!

    😀 have a great week!

Good luck with grad school. If you ever want to talk, shoot me an email and we can videochat or something. Sometimes it helps to talk it out with someone in grad school but not in your grad school. 🙂

I may just take you up on that offer Pam – because it is rough! And my department is just so two-faced that it’s not a very pleasant place to be and I haven’t felt comfortable making any friends. So thanks for the offer – and likewise 🙂

It’s such a relief to be caught up. I was so behind on comments that I couldn’t manage to visit most blogs I like to or anything just needing to catch up, so I’m looking forward to getting back to visiting blogs this week 🙂

      Have a great week!

Thanks! I’m feeling ridiculously proud of myself, which probably means things are about to fall apart LOL.

I haven’t read Night Broken yet – I’m waiting for April… or TRYING to wait. I really want to read it NOW but with being a COYER cohost I don’t feel right not reading eBooks…

      Have a great week 🙂

Enjoy the freebies – I’m a freebie stalker and most of mine I saw Pinkindle get first LOL

You’ll see my review, but Las Vegas was disappointing 🙁 I had enjoyed New York but it took a downward spin for me. Maybe you’ll like it though.

I’m so glad to hear about the good meeting with your Grad School adviser. Those meetings can be REALLY tough. I’m in the middle of my PhD program and am having some issues with a committee member who also happens to be the Director of Graduate Studies. So he’s my adviser too. Anyway, thank goodness for blogs! Mine keeps me sane.

    Great week! New Bloglovin’ follower.

Yikes, that’s like double bad! I hope it works out for you – sometimes I feel like getting a PhD is just as much about politics as it is about your field! And YES thank goodness for blogs, it’s my happy place 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, have a fabulous week!

I need to spend a week or two just reading then I maybe able to have a review or two a week, If these kids and husband didn’t need to eat or want to live in a clean house I would be totally ok with stopping all that to read all the time 😉 lol

Once again amazing haul! So glad you finally got all caught up! I know how stressful it can be to be behind.

Once things settle down we need a nice chat on the phone 🙂 We really should time how long each phone call is lol I think the last time was 3 hours.

Have a great week and talk to you soon!!!!

We do need to have a good chat – maybe to plan our twitter chat sometime this week? I have lots of good questions in my head and I just need to put them to paper. Oh and today’s #TBRreadathon party gave me a great idea for ours, don’t let me forget to tell you.

Thanks Angie! I was at 3 a week back when I started, but got behind. We’ll see if this hold up – I’ve been reading at a faster pace lately so we’ll see. I’m determined to not pressure myself – If I can only do 1 that’s totally fine!

      Have a great week 🙂

I book-marked your post on cover reveals – though I’m not as established to to this yet, I’m sure it will come in so useful in months to come and I’m still soaking up any technical knowledge. I had a week off 2 weeks ago and thought I can write a few pre-scheduled posts but I’m back to 0 again 🙂 Never mind.

You’ve been certainly stacking up the Kindle Freebies this week, good girl!
Have a great week and Happy Reading!

I’m glad you found it helpful Peggy! It’s crazy how quickly those scheduled posts can disappear and then you’re back to square one. I’m trying really hard to stay ahead this time.

      Have a great week!
