After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin. Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best. Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

I’ve been wanting to read this book for a seriously long time. And back in October I even won a hardcover copy from Felicia @ The Geeky Bloggers Book Blog. But I had her ship it to my brother, because I was moving in just a little over a month and didn’t want it to get lost or damaged in the move. So I didn’t have access to it until December. And then life happened. But I’m FINALLY reading it! Yay!!

My Teaser

An illustration of a twisted, half-decayed face grinned at her, flesh falling from its bones. The air chilled, and Celaena rubbed her arms. Where had she found this? How had this escaped the burnings? How had any of thse books escaped the purging fires ten years ago?Throne of Glass, Hardcover, page 209

Oooh, that’s a great teaser, Berls. I have wanted to read this book for awhile too. It is NOT on my shelf though, believe it or not. You know I’d had Shatter Me since 2011. 🙂 Anywho, my tease is from BOMB by JA Huss, but I’m currently reading Captured Again by LL Akers. Happy Tuesday!

I was practically forced to read this one by Michelle and I’m so glad she made me – AWESOME. Do I need to force you now? LOL – I need to get into JA Huss too! I have at least 3 of her books on my eReader…

It was SO good Felicia – my review won’t be out till next month because of the way my calendar is working out, but I’m pretty sure I gave if 5 stars. Seriously you have to read this thing – which, coincidentally, you bought me lol

Oh Fever re-read. That sounds heavenly – I just adore Jericho Barrons and have you listened to it with Phil Gigante? That man’s voice and Jericho’s personality combined gives me shivers!

LOL and I’m noticing that as I was reading this you were posting your review. What a coincidence, considering that this is not at all a recent series. I’m going with the great minds think a like theory 😉
