Sunday Post | 27th Edition

January 19, 2014 Sunday Post 14

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

This week was moving week and I’m exhausted! We loaded up the first load in the truck and my mom’s SUV at 8am Wednesday morning and made two trips that way from my brother’s apartment (where we and our stuff have been staying) and then went to my mom’s, because she had a couch for us (we gave up most of our furniture when we left St. Louis). She has a really nice, but REALLY heavy sleeper sofa so it took me, my brother and my boyfriend to get it loaded and then into the apartment. I ended up with my hand jammed between it and 1 door frame, too. That was just the start of my injuries, though.

My brother and my mom were done at that point, so my boyfriend and I headed out to my step-son’s mom’s work, where she had a desk for me and a tv stand for us (she’s an apartment manager and sometimes people abandon some nice furniture!). We also stopped at her house to pick up an dresser no one was using and a bookcase (yay!). Both stops filled the truck and we headed back to our apartment, where I proceeded to drop the ridiculously heavy desk on my legs. Yep. It hurt and you don’t want to see the bruises. Once we got the desk in it was like 8pm and we just left it in the entry way, rather than messing with trying to push it any further. I spent the next two days (Thursday and Friday) unpacking non-stop. One of the best parts was that I have a bookcase for the first time in so long and was able to unload the books that have been living in boxes for the past year.

Saturday (today) began with some more unpacking (I’m almost done) and then going to help out with my step-son’s family’s move. They just closed on a house on Friday (17th) and we’re spending the weekend painting. My step-son is spending his first night with us at the new apartment tonight, which is why I’m late getting this post up (I was playing Xbox360 with him). We’ll be back painting tomorrow (Sunday) and then next weekend they’ll officially move-in. And then we’ll ALL be done moving! Yay! Anyway – I’m exhausted and very behind on posts/responding to comments. So bear with me 🙂 Hope y’all had a fantabulous week!

Blogosphere Fun

Sorry guys, I”m totally behind and only have one post to report so far this week. Anya @ On Starships and Dragonwings had a super informative post – Guide to Getting Approved on Edelweiss. I’ve found that site so mystifying, but this really explained a lot.

New Additions to My Shelf

Apparently moving is the cure to my shopping, because I didn’t pick up anything this week!

How was your week?

Moving is definitely chore. During our first year of marriage, my husband and I moved three times. We didn’t have time to think about anything else!

I can’t believe it is time for COYER again! It was so much fun last time.

Whew, what a week you’ve been having! I hope your injuries heal up well. But doesn’t it feel to get those books out of boxes? Thanks for the Edelweis advice link, and I’m going to check out your post on monetizing. Have a great week, and take care of yourself!

Book marked Edelweiss link. I got accepted to only one publishing company (totally not complaining) but now I can’t seem to get anything else (I should be happy about that but I’m not) 😉

I have never moved only once. I dread when we have to move again. I totally feel for you and I am so sorry about your injuries LOL.
That’s an awful lot of moving for one family 🙂

    Have a great week!
    Talk to you soon
