Sunday Post | 25th Edition

January 5, 2014 Sunday Post 23

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

Happy 2014 everyone! I’m back full swing with the blog now that the holidays are over and it feels good to be back. I’m enjoying interacting with everyone and since I managed to get a little ahead (though not near as far as I would have liked) the pressure is off a bit. Plus, I came up with a schedule that works a bit better for me, so that’s definitely helping.

Thanks for all the finger crossing and wishes for good luck on the apartment search – I’m thrilled to report that we found something. It turned out to be a bit more difficult than it had already been because after we finally found a place that met all our requirements and turned in an application a mysterious eviction showed up on my criminal report! Needless to say, that was a shock to me and something that I hadn’t thought to check (like I do my credit) because I knew I had nothing on it… or so I thought. Thankfully the apartments allowed me to submit paperwork proving otherwise, since fixing it on my record is going to take a lot longer.

I hope everyone has had a fabulous start to the New Year!

Blogosphere Fun

Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer had a post about Organization and Avoiding Burnout that I wish I had read back in July when I started blogging. Tons of great tips, no matter what stage in the blogging game you’re in. If you missed it, check it out!

Bloggiesta announced that there’s going to be a Winter 2014 Mini Bloggiesta January 25 and 26th. If you’re like me and have meaning to join in one of these day, here’s your chance!

Book Blog Walkers kicked off with Felicia @ The Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and you can join in anytime! It’s been a great motivation for me!

Another 2014 Challenge that I may just have to jump on board with – 2014 Fur & Fangs Challenge hosted by Novel Heartbeat and Phantasmic Reads (two of my favorite ladies!!) opened up signups this week.

A new group has formed on BookBlogging.netBook Buddies called – it’s a chance to do readalongs with a little less pressure. For details and links and everything go to the mastermind behind it all: Anya @ On Starships & Dragonswings. She’s explained it all really well in her Book Buddies Post. I’m thinking about jumping in for February, though it’s not too late for January either.

The weather can be such a bummer for walking! I’m so glad there are videos for doing it inside and I’m hoping to buy a treadmill or elliptical (mine broke during the move, boo!) in the next month so that the weather won’t be an obstacle anymore.

      Have a great week!

You bet! I’m nervous to join in because I’m kinda commitment phobic right now when it comes to my reading LOL but I do love sharing the experience of reading a book with someone, so I’m keeping it on my radar!

Haha, you can buddy read with me and then if it doesn’t work for you at the time you don’t have to worry since I’ll just read it anyway ;-). I’ve already had several reads that didn’t quite pan out because of schedules, no big deal 😀

My friend just also applied for an apartment and there was a mysterious eviction on there too. It was from somewhere in AZ. He is trying to get it all figured out now. He hasn’t heard back from the apartments to see if he can prove he lived here or not… hoping the best for him. I think I’ll start participating in that non-bookish blogger posts. I like that we can talk more about ourselves there!!

Oh no! I wish him luck – I hope it works out for him like it did for me. It’s a real shock and pain trying to get it fixed (i’m still working on fixing it in the long term).

I hope you will join in on the Life of a Blogger – the themes are all set in advance so you can plan ahead and everything. And it’s fun getting to know everyone a bit better.

I am going to do bloggiesta too. I have been slowly working my way through the older bloggiesta challenges, but I want to do the challenge in real time with everyone else.

I never even thought to work through the older challenges! That would have been smart. I look forward to doing one with everyone though, I love doing things with the blog community 🙂

Right?!? I’m just glad the apartments understood that these things happen and allowed me to prove it wasn’t true. Now to just get moved in – the 15th can’t come fast enough! Have a great week!

Thanks!! I’m so relived! I’m enjoying Dark Lover so far. The story line is good, though the narration is iffy for me. It’s not one I can’t get into, but it’s not an instant love either (the narration). I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Yay! So excited to hear that – I hope I’ll get to it earlier rather than later… but there’s COYER in March if not. 🙂

Thanks, I can’t tell you how relieved I am about the apartment.

Thanks Michelle – that was such a huge stressor and I can’t tell you how relieved I am now that I know I have a place to live! I hope you’re having a better week 🙂
