Sunday Post | 21st Edition

December 1, 2013 Sunday Post 15

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

Happy December!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and, for those that celebrate Hanukkah, that your festivities have gotten off to a great start! It was a quiet one for us – we opted to stay in St. Louis since we’ll be headed back to Texas in less than a month and this time for good. We ordered Dominos (yes, they were open) and watched movies most the day. I’ve had off from school for a few days too and, while I wanted to do some serious catching up on the blog, I had to be responsible and catch up with school work instead.

In fact, the next month is going to be pretty quiet on Fantasy is More Fun. I’ve got a few posts setup, but many of the regular features will go on hold until the next year. I have way too much coming up between now and January to even try and keep up with the blog – but on the plus side, it’s my last semester of course work! Yay!! On top of school work, I’m moving back home when the semester ends, so it’s going to be busy. And I haven’t bought any xmas presents yet. Hence – the slower blog schedule here on out. I’ll be catching up on comments and visiting other blogs in the upcoming weeks and hopefully by the new year I’ll have a clean, caught up slate and lots of exciting things to report. I do plan to continue doing the Sunday Posts though, so you aren’t getting rid of me entirely 🙂

On another note, COYER has officially ended! What an amazing month! Participants have until 11:59 EST on the 6th to get their reviews up from November COYER reads. A huge thank  you to all our mini-challenge hosts, including Reanna @ Phantasmic Reads, who hosted the final week’s challenge. There’s a fun post up today about the twitter party and my own wrap up. On the 7th we will announce winners! Congrats to everyone – you all made it a success!

Oh and NaNoWriMo… If you count what I haven’t managed to pull from scribbles on my notepad, I’ve written a good 30,000 words. If you only count what’s typed, I’m a little under 20,000. So I didn’t quite make it, but it’s been fun and fully intend to finish the project that I started this month. Next year, I’ll be in again and hopefully be better prepared to make it happen (this year I found out about it less than a week before it began!)

COYER Winners Announced! And Exciting News….

Blogosphere Fun

I’m actually a week behind on this post, but I thought it was so cool I had to share. Chapter Break had a Guest Post: Confessions of an Author’s Assistant with Judy Fox and Sarah Blaussey.

Angie @ Pinkindle is celebrating her 2 year blogoversary! Be sure to stop by and congratulate her!

Jessi @ Novel Heartbeat has launched a new meme/feature – Life of a Blogger. Once things calm down I plan to jump in. But check it out, this week was all about pets!

On Starships and Dragonwings has started (? I’m not sure how long it’s been around, but it’s new to me!) a feature called Sci-Fi and Fantasy Fridays. It’s a place to link up your Sci-Fi and Fantasy reviews for the week and check out the ones you may have missed. I’m thinking a definite Friday stop for me, since I’m a Fantasy addict:-)

Hearding Cats & Burning Soup has a couple 2014 Reading Challenges that I’m seriously considering jumping on (I need to see how many I can handle). There’s the Erotic Romance Reading Challenge and Historical Romance Reading Challenge. Since I tend to read both genres, I’m thinking I’ll jump in.

And don’t forget the 2014 Audio Book Challenge, hosted once again by The Book Nympho and Hot Listens. If you haven’t tried audio yet, here’s a great place to start and get addicted. If you have, well then, what are you waiting for?

Good job on NaNo, those were all words you didn’t have before you started so that’s awesome. I did it too, kind of a similar deal I went in knowing I wouldn’t get to 50k with the busy month it was, but I still got a fair amount of words and that was good.

Have a great holiday season and hope your week coming up is a good one.

Great job on NaNoWriMo! I got distracted halfway through the month. Good luck finishing up your coursework this month. It is always crazy at the end of the semester. 🙂

Congrats on the words you did get in Nano and the words you have scribbled to still get out. That’s the big thing with Nano, getting going and a steady pace. Good for you. 🙂

I’ll be a bit on the slow side at my blog this month as well, holiday’s and all. 😉

I too have a Sunday Post up, if you’d like to stop by…

    Have a great week!

You got a great haul this week! I really don’t know how you do it. I’m a nervous wreck adding anymore books to the books I already have 🙂

I can’t believe COYER is over 🙁 I had to much fun. I can’t wait to do it again!!! YAY!!!

Looking forward to the quiet rest of the year. Just reading and nothing more (maybe a blitz here or there) Wont have much time to do anything SINCE I’LL BE LOOKING FOR FRIGGIN DOC MCSTUFFIN 🙂

    Have a great week!!!

I didn’t have much luck with the $4.99 sale at audible when it came to the romance titles, I already listened to most of their selection, but I did buy a few from the Fantsay selection, so I didn’t do too bad 🙂
You got some great selections! I loved more than a few of those. I haven’t listened to Romancing the Dead or the Shadow Reader yet, let me know how you liked them when your done.
