Sunday Post | 20th Edition

November 24, 2013 Sunday Post 12

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

You ever have one of those weeks that you probably should have just gone to bed and stayed there until the next week? Well that was last week for me. After getting caught up the week before everything pretty much disintegrated after last weekend’s storms blew out my internet connection. I’m in St. Louis, which really didn’t get hit by the storms too badly, but somehow my internet was out from Sunday until Friday morning!

As you can imagine, I spent a lot of time at the school library last week. But their internet wasn’t doing so hot either and a lot of people were doing the same thing, so I had to focus my energies on my school work and free up the computer when I was done with my internet needs. The result? Very little blogging, lots of running around, and very little reading. On the plus side, I finally turned in a paper that was technically due almost a year ago (you don’t want to know) and made progress on another paper I have due tomorrow (Monday 11/25).

The #COYER challenge is reaching its home stretch – next week is the final week! We have a twitter party today from 7-8 PM EST, so be sure to drop on by for a chance to win some fun Swag packs, eBooks and even a couple signed paperbacks! And a huge thank you to Laura @ Music Plus Books for hosting last week’s Acrostic Poem Challenge! This week head over to Reanna @ Phantasmic Reads for a fun Cover Challenge!

Are you really going to read that? | Fun Questions

Blogosphere Fun

I didn’t make it to many posts last week, but I did find two upcoming events that I would like to participate in:

The Book Dragon’s Lair is hosting the “I Love Library Books Reading Challenge 2014” and I’m thinking I’ll jump in at the bottom level and maybe work my way up. For me, 2014 is going to be about reading the books I’ve had on my TBR forever, so I think I’ll be doing more library time than I have the last few months.

FiktshunTwo Chicks on Books and Magical Urban Fantasy Reads are hosting the “Top 10 of 2013”. I’ve been trying to think about how I would sum up the year and since they’ve already done the work, why not jump in and have some community fun while I’m at it?

Oh and last week I told y’all about the survey Parajunkee was doing… well we’ve got some of the results this week. I found it fun and surprising to get some insight into our blog community.

New Additions to My Shelf

Internet was down and still I managed to pick up too many books. I have a problem…

How was your week? Have a wonderful Turkey Day and travel safe!

Thanks for mentioning this library book challenge! I get a lot of books from the library, so this is a good fit for me. 🙂 It will also keep me focused on reading non-ARC books!

Ugh! Sorry about your week, Berls! It sucks when our internet doesn’t work. I can’t even remember how things were before we had internet! But YAY on completing your way overdue paper, as well as the one that’s due tomorrow 🙂

You are going to fall in love with TRAGIC! I read it last week for the COYER challenge, and it is awesome 🙂 I also enjoyed The Ferryman and the Flame when I read it last year.

I wish I could participate in the Twitter party tonight, alas 7PM your time is 1AM my time, and I have classes all day tomorrow 🙁

Happy reading! I hope next week will be awesome 🙂

My week was pretty much a write-off too but the culprit was work not weather. At least you managed to turn it around and get RL stuff done. Fingers crossed next week is better for you.
