Sunday Post | 12th Edition

September 29, 2013 Sunday Post 20

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here.

Last week was a seriously rough week! School has been really amping it up and this week it exploded. I barely kept up with my posts and comments – sorry if you stopped by and I responded a couple days later. Because of a paper that I had due on Tuesday I hadn’t managed to get my blog fully ahead like I like to, so I was scrambling the last few days to get my scheduled posts up. So I spent all day yesterday (Saturday) getting my blog where I want it for the week. Sunday is going to be a blog-free day, though. I just have too much school work to do, so I’ll get back to you and visit your Sunday Posts on Monday (if I get everything done, I’ll stop by tonight).

It was a busy one on the blog last week, despite my being crazy busy at school. The highlight was a surprise nomination for the Shine on Award. I didn’t know much about it, but it’s pretty cool to get a shout-out from a fellow blogger in any form. So that made my week 🙂 Next week is going to be crazy busy as we launch one of my favorite months – October! Also known as Let’s Celebrate Halloween month! I’ll be participating in some great Halloween events (see schedule below) and doing a few design updates in honor of the holiday that celebrates everything I love to read about all year long!

As always, thanks for stopping by and sharing your weeks with me!

Fun Questions | Do you get blogger ADD?

Blogosphere Fun

Since I was all over the place this week, I didn’t do a very good job marking posts that I really wanted to share with you. So these are just the ones I remember off the top of my head:

Nosegraze conducted a survey a while back and the results are very interesting. Check out Blogger Survey Results – Part 1.

How much should you be trying to review each week? Parajunkee posted a great discussion post on this topic (and made me feel a lot better!!). Check out #BB101 – I can’t review this Much!

A continuing favorite feature of mine is For Book’s Sake at The Demon Librarian. This week’s topic: Mary Sue and TSTL Heroines!

I used to be mystified about how people had all these related posts suggestions. If you’re wondering too check out Caffeinated Book Reviewer’s post How the Heck Did You Do That?!? and the mystery will be solved.

Xpresso Book Tours is a favorite touring group out there for YA and NA books, but now they’re moving into darker territory with their launch of Xpresso After Dark! I’m super excited as this will feature my go-to genres 🙂

New Additions to My Shelf

I guess one benefit of being super crazy busy is I didn’t do near as much shopping this week as I usually do. But I still picked up a decent number of books that I can’t wait to read! I also realized last week that this feature was crashing my post (that’s when you know you bought to many books!!) so this week, I’m just listing them instead off adding their images. But if you click on the titles – it will take you to Amazon!

Kindle Freebies and .99 Deals:

Scars of the Bifrost (The Scars Saga) by A.J.M. Mousseau
Hopeless For You by Hayden Hill
Cursed Ever After (Ever After Series Erotica Prequel) by A.C. James

Won in giveaway:

Thanks Greg – you too! I really enjoyed Parajunkee’s post – I get a little anxious about whether enough I’m doing enough reviews, so it was really reassuring to read! Have a great week 🙂

Without being able to schedule posts there’s no way I could keep any kind of regular posting schedule. Thanks for stopping by Jenea 🙂

I can only imagine the multitasking that is required to balance school and your blog. I hope that your day off from blogging is a success and you get ahead of some of the school work. I am glad that you are able to prioritize.

The blog does take a lot of time and it doesn’t help that I would rather blog than do school work LOL. But my day off was productive and I’m not too far behind now. I’m going to start giving myself a no blog day every week I think. Thanks for stopping by 🙂

ok – nice lists there. I need to check out your audiobook challenge – I’ve not participated in any really this year – and probably should with 50 or so done.
    Congrats on the award!!

Thanks – the award was a bright spot in my week 🙂 You should check out the Audiobook challenge. I screwed up and put it for September 30th instead of October 30th. Whoops. So that post is rescheduled LOL but go check it out at The Book Nympho – you can still sign up.

Thanks! I hadn’t either, but it was a nice treat. Being such a new blogger, I tend to feel like I do everything wrong LOL so it was cool to know someone doesn’t think so!

  3. Vilia

I scrambled a lot this week too. Luckily I still have one more week on my hols to catch up. I’m super excited about Xpresso After Dark as I don’t review YA or NA.

I wish I could get to a point where I was like two weeks ahead, at the moment I’m barely a week ahead. Maybe over Christmas break. Oh and I’m thrilled about Xpresso AFter Dark, it’s going be great 🙂

Ooo hope your school week is better, and glad you got the week ahead organized. You don’t ever need to feel like you need to comment back the same day, so don’t stress about it. I have peeps who come by once a week and blow up my posts with comments, and I do the same to theirs. Have a peaceful day today and get that studying done 🙂

Thanks Kimba – taking a day off from the blog did help! I’m probably going to have to start doing something like that – I think I can keep up with comments for the most part, but I’ll have to spend my weekends catching up on visiting everyone’s blogs. I follow so many more than I used to that I just can’t keep up during the week. No one told me blogging could take so much time!! LOL I love it though, so I’m not complaining 🙂
