Sunday Post | 6th Edition

August 18, 2013 Sunday Post 19

Last week was my first full week on WordPress and I have to admit I’m loving it. Now that I’m settled here the setup is so much better than Blogger – it’s just way easier to customize!

On another note – I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’m going to keep up my blog once school starts and after Friday’s Feature & Follow (where so many bloggers posted about keeping it light and remembering to have fun) I’ve decided I need to cut back on the number of posts I do a week. I’ve been so addicted to my blog since I started it, but I also haven’t had classes to keep up with. So starting this week – instead of having a review every dayΒ I’m going to have reviews on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Instead of having the While I’m Reading (WIR) feature on Mondays and Wednesdays, they will only be on Thursdays. Finally, I’ve combined my Fun Questions and Is Fantasy REALLY More Fun features into one – Fun Questions – which will appear on Saturdays. I’ll continue doing Teaser Tuesdays, Feature & Follow Friday, and The Sunday Post. Hopefully this will be a reasonable pace that I can keep up with once school starts!

Wow, your reduced schedule still looks amazingly full to me! It’s good to hear that you’re enjoying WordPress. I’m considering switching to it myself, but I need to find the time to play around with it and be sure I know what I’m doing (and that time has been hard to find!) Enjoy all your new books, and good luck with the school year!

Oh, and I’ll be following your blog, too!

Yeah, it may still be too much. I hope not though, because I would really like to keep up enough book review posts to stay at least semi current with my reading pace.

As for WP I hear that Ashley (NoseGraze) will let you play around with a demo of her Tweak Me theme (which is the one I bought). I didn’t know about that until after I got settled, but I believe it because she’s so helpful. I’d ask πŸ™‚

I waited I until I found a GoDaddy hosting deal of $1/mo, since I easily spend that without realizing it on little things. But I didn’t anticipate the money I would spend on a theme – there are free ones, but I couldn’t find one that would do what I wanted, so I paid $35 for that – and then I spent $35 on the book blogger plugin. So far I don’t regret the expenses, but I can see holding off, especially if you’re happy at blogger.

Thanks for stopping by – have a great week!

Thanks! Good luck with getting ahead; it’s not easy! I’m looking forward to reading How to Date – I’m glad to hear it was a fun read πŸ™‚

I’m really looking forward to How to Flirt. I’ve listened to a few Harper/Ronconi books and they were really fun reads. Thanks – I hope my plan will work for me to find the right balance between blog and school!

    • Berls

LOL me too – I’ve read some of the Jane Jameson books by Molly Harper and read by Amanda Ronconi so I expect that I’ll like it. When I saw it was one of the 2 for 3 books, I jumped on it! I actually already have book 2 in the series, since it was on one of audible’s random free events and I had thought, “what the heck, someday I’ll get book 1 for cheap” LOL – I have too many books that are later in series without book 1 because of this mentality. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great week!

    • Berls

Well we’ll see if I can keep that pace up. I spent most of yesterday reworking my calendar and I realized that if I didn’t do at least 3 book reviews a week I’d be posting reviews for books I read now in like December! So hopefully it’ll work – my plan is to write my posts for the week on Saturdays – that way I can just maintain comments, twitter, and reading other blogs throughout the week. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week πŸ™‚
