Sunday Post #1 | July 14

July 14, 2013 Sunday Post 4

I was catching up on a new blog follow this morning, Blkosiner’s Book Blog, when I stumbled upon this weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Basically it’s a chance to talk about the books you bought, borrowed, blogged about, and read for the week and what’s coming in the week ahead – and then share them with a much wider blogging community. Check out the details here. Since I’m still structuring my blog and was just thinking a weekly shout out of this type would be great for Sundays, this find couldn’t be better timed.

So I’m going to jump in and have some fun with this!

This week was Fantasy Is More Fun’s first week and it has been so much fun and a lot more work than I could have dreamed it would be. I’m having a blast, am officially blog addicted, and can’t wait to get to know my fellow bloggers better. Thanks to all the new followers for checking me out and I hope you’re having at least a fraction of the fun I am with my blog.

Last week on the blog:

I jumped in head first with a 15 Day Blogger Challenge hosted by Good Books, Good Wine. Check out days 1-4:
Berls’s 15 Day Blogger Challenge | Day One
Berls’s 15 Day Blogger Challenge | Day Two
Berls’s 15 Day Blogger Challenge | Day Three
Berls’s 15 Day Blogger Challenge | Day Four

I also started loading reviews from books I’ve read since January. Maybe you’ll remember an old favorite or a book you’ve been meaning to check out:
Harrison, Kim. Hollows Series: #7 White Witch, Black Curse &; #8 Black Magic Sanction
Meyer, Stephanie. The Host
Moning, Karen Marie. Fever Series: #1 Darkfever, #2 Bloodfever, #3 Faefever , #4 Dreamfever & #5 Shadowfever
Riordan, Rick. Heroes of Olympus Series : #3 The Mark of Athena

A feature that I started this week and think will be a lot of fun is While I’m Reading- a chance to relive your old favorites while I’m reading them. I provide my thoughts, excitements, frustrations and predictions in my current reads. If you haven’t read these books, though, expect tons of spoilers!:

Gabaldon, Diana. Voyager : Up to chapter 14.
Neill, Chloe. Biting Cold : Up to Chapter 8

Last, but certainly not least, I jumped in on my very first bloghop, hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It was a lot of fun and really threw me into the blogger world. It also features a guest photobomb by my beloved dog, Buffy:
Feature and Follow | #1

Next week on the blog (I’ll be much more organized!):

While I’m Reading – updates on Diana Gabaldon’s Voyager and Chloe Neill’s Biting Cold
Book Reviews – Today: Karen Marie Moning’s Iced
                           Monday: Patricia Briggs’s River Marked
                           Tuesday: Patricia Briggs’s Frost Burned
Wednesday: Kim Harrison’s Pale Demon
Thursday:  Kim Harrison’s A Perfect Blood
Friday: Rachel Vincent’s My Soul to Take
Saturday: Kim Harrison’s Ever After

And I plan to join in again on the Feature and Follow blog hop Friday!

Here’s some favorite posts I read this week:

ParajunkeeGoogle Can Delete Your Blog (Super Informative)
Rabid Reads: Are Some Books Better In Audio? (If you love audio this post lists some great narrators to put on your radar)
Under the Covers: Chains and Canes by Katie Porter + Book Blast  (Book Review – sounds like a really great book and the series is now on my TBR.)

I’m sure there were more, but since I didn’t realize I would be doing this, I didn’t mark them for myself. So next week I’ll do better – promise!

New Additions to My Shelf This Week:

Looking forward to another great week here

and around the blogosphere!

Your first week? Wow, did you ever jump in wholeheartedly! There’s nothing wrong with reading and reviewing older books; it gives them a chance to shine and be rediscovered. Also, do this YOUR way; it’s your blog. 🙂

    Happy reading!

LOL yeah – I wasn’t kidding when I said I got blog addicted! I think next week will be a bit more balanced though, I’ve started to work out some of my kinks and to figure out how things work. That’s seems to be half the battle – knowing what to click on to do what! Thanks for checking out my page, I hope you enjoy the blog 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, looks like you have a great week ahead as well. I've had Abigail Haas's 'Dangerous Girls' on my TBR for a little while now, so I'll look forward to your book review on Friday! Added you to my bloglovin'
