Berls’s 15 Day Blogger Challenge | Day 2
I was checking out one of my favorite blogs, Parajunkee, and saw this challenge – I thought what a great way to start this blog off! It’s hosted by “Good Books, Good Wine,” if you’d like to check it out.
Day 2: What is your bedtime reading ritual?
I guess I don’t really have one, especially since I go to bed at all kinds of odd hours depending on what’s going on with school at that point in time. I do, however, read every night (with a very few exceptions). Night time reading is reserved for my hard copy or e-books; I tried e-books at one time and even with the sleep timer I ended up falling asleep and missing part of the book. So I read – with either just the table lamp or, if I’m on my e-book, all the lights off – until I start falling asleep in my book. Which means I’ve usually stopped understanding for a few pages, so I have to reread a page or two when I pick my book up again. I try really hard to feel my sleepiness coming so I can stop at a good point, but lately that’s been happening less and less; falling asleep in the book has been happening much more often. I probably read for 30 minutes to an hour most nights. Every now and again I get so into a book that I stay up most the night reading it, to the frustration of my boyfriend (who is trying to sleep) and my dog (who wants me to sleep so she can cuddle).
It’s nothing too strange; maybe falling asleep in your book as a grown adult is a little weird? What’s your ritual?
